Basically do 10 5-60-5 pulls consecutively and then drive around normal for 30-45 mins without stopping to let your brakes cool off. It’s pretty fun to do, and smells great.

    Not sure at this point.
Find a long stretch of road.

Go 50, down to 40, down to 30, down to 20, roll to let it cool. Repeat this process at least 3-4 times or until your ABS doesn’t like what you’re doing.

Lol! Whatever floats honestly. As long as you’re letting the rotors cool before you go at it again. There are so many ways to bed in the pads, but with 15k miles on mine, haven’t had an issue until recently. The metal shim on the pads are probably squealing and telling me it needs to be replaced… OR, it’s just cause it’s Yellow Stuff and they’re meant to actually be used to stop quickly and hard.

That’s what I get for buying track pads. Not sure if I want to go with yellow stuff again or back to OEM. Front/Rear rotors with pads is gonna run about $550… sigh.

Glad to hear no issues. I plan to keep it under the back seat. Doesn’t do any good if you can’t store it in the truck for immediate use when needed. Hell, you can’t even store it in the garage because I’m sure that’s over 122 degrees as well.

It would be a drive for you, but Sean at New England Rust Prevention (nerustprevention.com) in Ayer, MA did it. I found them via the NHOU website and they did a great job.

I believe there was someone who posted up in the MA section, closer to the city/south shore, that was doing it as a side hustle. Ayer was just too close for me to pass up.

I hide my NOCO under the center seat on my truck. Haven’t had any issues with it. Just recently pulled it out to recharge.

$400-500, IIRC. The frame was in good shape and I didn't have my appointment until mid-December. Sounds like right now is the time to get it done and still get the summer discount. Future years are supposedly less money than the initial treatment/coating. The pricing included dropping all of the cat plate & mounts, coating them all as well, and reinstalling.

That's a good price. Did they strip & chemically treat the metal before painting? It looks like that's proper painting & not undercoating?

That is just NHOU "clear" undercoating. No painting, minimal (if any) prep was required since I had historically done undercarriage washes, weekly, since it was driven off the lot new. Being in central MA with the salt and brine, I wanted to preserve it before it started to show signs of NE winters. In hindsight, I'll probably never not have our future vehicles treated as soon as we take ownership. I like not having seized nuts or bolts.

So you can’t store them in your vehicle because it gets to hot but you take them with you when you leave the house and then leave them in there while you are out and about which exposes them to very high temperatures that you aren’t supposed to. Ill stick to cables.

    lol
I've been unknowingly taking my chances year-round with them baking in a black tool chest in the bed. Along with a couple Crapsman cordless drill batteries. I'll continue down that road & just keep topping them off every handful of months. Next hot sunny day, though, I'm gonna take the temperature gun out there & see how hot it actually gets in that chest.

Yeah, bought mine before eventually replacing my battery and now it sits in the house and I feel like it's kinda a waste.

Very nice! Been there a number of times. We usually go to the beaches off season so the doggies can come with us. Ever go to the Clam Castle just down the road from the park (.4mi)?
