Just received my auto insurance quote for a 2018 Tundra 1794, living in Los Angeles County. Zero tickets or accidents for 10+ years.

$2001 per year. Is that inline with what others are paying?

With insurance companies pulling out of CA, I'd think you should take what you can get :p

    Alot of them
There are too many variables to determine an average cost.

My insurance (NY) said the legalization of marijuana has caused rates to go up. Also, the general lack of driving ability out there. So many a**holes tailgate and don’t pay attention. Ask me how I know….SMH

I agree with the gang, that's more a CA thing than a Tundra thing. Might be time to start a super legit LLC with a P.O. box for an address in Montana...

I ran into this a couple years back -

The underwriters generate a "FICO LIKE" score. my previous insurance called it their "T" score.
My current called it something else, i dont remember. This score along with your geopgrahic factors
and other factors dictate what your rate will be.

Mine just went up and the insurance rep said because there are many claims coming from my area
which translates to, i have a higher percentage of generating a claim.. LOL

If you, in the past had a bad credit score but now it has significantly improved, ask them to re-run your "T" score.
if it has not ben ran in a while. They will know what you are talking about. I had mine re-ran with my previous
insurance company and i had to ask in writing for it to be done, but my rate went down a little due to my "T" score
    improving.

If you are using the same company that you've always used, chances are they did not re-run that process and are
using an older "T" score value. If its the same company, ask them to re-run it !

My current insurance company advised me to have it ran yearly and the phone rep said she can do it herself without
    any impact to my policy.

That has to be a CA thing. I live in VA, am 48, wife is 46. We own two vehicles (2020 Tundra and 2022 4Runner). Full coverage, $500 deductible, 300/500/300 coverage.

We pay $1300/year. (With Erie insurance.)

A lot of people are moving that way. Insurance is a buttload cheaper too. Something to think about for us Coloradans.

My neighbor has a Montana LLC and one in ND.

I moved from Montana to Colorado when I graduated college. Imagine my dismay when I went to register and insure my truck when I arrived :puke:

How's that work if you get into an accident in your primary residence vicinity?

You're probably in the 1% of coverage with those numbers in VA huh? VA has some lenient requirements regarding coverage from what someone else was saying on here a few days ago.

I bet the insurance shock in CO is like the property value shock in Bozeman.

My insurance tripled when moving here.

Why would that matter? Honest question.

If I get in an accident in Texas vs Florida would my insurance coverage be different?

The first question they ask is where the truck is normally parked then typically send over an adjuster. I feel like insurance companies are well aware of our schemes

They wanna get out of liability any way they can.

Actually you bring up a good point.

Rates are determined by location and risk assessment. So.....

I went to TX A&M in Corpus Christi. It's known as the Island University - but sits on a peninsula

We'd surf and beach camp between bar hops, but your extracurricular list is more enticing imo...
