Concerts...going to be hard to remember all of the opening acts even if I can remember the main artist.

First was Bon Jovi with Skid Row opener, back when I was 13. Besides Metallica, I've also seen (in no particular order) Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Gypsy Kings, The Police, Macklemore, Anthrax, BB King, U2 and a few more I cannot remember.

As part of the Metallica shows, I've also seen Eminem, Dr Dre, Kid Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Filter, Guns & Roses, The Sword, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Pantera, Mammoth, and Five Finger Death Punch. There are easily another 5-6 bands that opened for Metallica that I don't remember.

So did they do that first or Motley Crue? That's a signature Tommy Lee thing from back in the day.

Beyond my Neil diamond sing along at age 9, yeah I've been to a ton of shows. And that doesn't even include bar shows because when I was lived in San Diego I worked at a live music blues bar that was home to some national touring acts. But I'll give it a go anyhow and list some of my favorite shows. Gotta say I'm super jelly of @JMB's list... led fucking zepplin and John prime, those must've been epic! If only I still had all the overpriced concert shirts...

    Fishbone
    Love and rockets
    Social distortion
    AC/DC
    Scorpions
    Billy idol
    Penny wise
    Beastie boys
Rolling Stones bridges to Babylon tour
    The offspring
    Korn
    Deftones
    Slipknot
    Silverchair
    Soundgarden
    Slayer
    Green Day
    Rage against the machine
    Bad religion
    Megadeath
    LTJ Bukem
    Santana
    Snoop dog
    David Byrne
    Roger waters wall tour
    Queens of the Stone Age
    Rush reunion tour
    Neil young and crazy horse
    Sturgil Simpson
    Gary Clark jr
    Ween
    Dj shadow
    Stephen Marley
    The roots
    Femi Kuti
    Flaming lips
    Warren Haynes
    Govt Mule
    Black keys
    Jack white
There are many more but after many years of bartending it has proved some memories become difficult. And also why at my age in life I say I'm done paying for shows. But I know that's a dream because a few months ago I bought Tix for Billie Eilish for this Nov because my oldest daughter wants to go. And this summer I did go to a few free shows at Dillon amphitheater.

Judas Priest with Motorhead and Volbeat, I think?
    The Sword

    The Tragically Hip x3
    Smashing Pumpkins

Also interesting is the commonalities we share in the type of music.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    with this said....

I wonder what the most listened to music is right now.

My son tells me on Pandora it's "our" music.

On Spotify it's not much different.

When/where do folks consume today's sorry-ass, no-talent, bubblegum, ear slag?

    is it apple music?

I have a huge catalogue of music on portable hard drives but when Spotify premium came out I signed up just so I would have access to any new music coming out. I haven't touched my hard drives in probably like 6 or 7 years now. I sold my cd collection years ago as well when I converted it to digital MP3's.

same. except I still have my cd's.

streaming makes it damn easy and today's algorithms mix up the music quite well.

once I transferred everything over to digital I ended up storing them in snowboard boot boxes. I had over 400 stored in boxes and all in alphabetical order. I sold each box at the yard sale but wouldn't let anyone cherry pick anything. So if they wanted something from that box I made them buy the whole lot from it. Wasn't for the money either, they were just taking up too much space at that point in my life.

Talking and thinking about all the shows I've been to, as well as my cd collection I've spent way to much money on music. And I don't regret it for a second.

Who here ever bought in into Colombia house to acquire cds for their collection? What was it, start with 10 cd's for a penny each plus shipping with commitment to buy like 10 at full price over the next year?

Whatever this forum told me to do
    amazing stuff.

who would have ever thought, back in the 80's, that there would be ZERO record stores.

we thought Napster was a fluke.

    then Limewire.

then Apple caught a whiff of that ass....and took over.

I guess that's why music sux these days. no money for the artists.

I bet I have 10k songs from when I downloaded back then...

    what's next?

the apple watch synch'ing to your heartbeat then finding music that matches? we ain't far off.
