saw this video regarding the charcoal filters in air intake filter housings. Basically, removing it is a measurable difference on equipment but not enough to be noticeable to driver. at least on his test car.

We have over twice the displacement of engine in his test car. Might make a difference.

What a great video. No stupid fluff of showing each run on the dyno or road test. Just a clip and the results.

Holy crap - it's been a while since I actually had a chance to do anything but drive it around.

On June 27, I hit the milestone every 13-yr-old boy giggles about.

Then today, I installed a Costco Interstate AGM 24F battery. The factory original wasn't showing any signs of problems, other than a little bit of crust under the positive terminal, but I figured it was time. And I gain a little room on the sides to tidy things up when I finally get a chance to do that.

Also installed an EVC iDrive throttle controller.

I got this one from @Squatting Pigeon as part of the Blueberry Cobbler demise, so I'm glad to have some part of the blueberry living on.
    F7EF706A-E908-4435-9947-84DB1ED6C3B3_1_105_c.jpg

I only got a little bit of time to play around with it today - tested it up to U-3 and also E-3. U-0 through 3 (so far) adds some nice pep to the first part of the pedal from a stop or a light - I was enjoying it. Sort of like Tow/Haul, but different too. The E settings definitely retard the response noticeably - E-3 feels like a neutered 4-banger.
Looking forward to playing around with it some more.

Update 9/7/24 - decided to pull it out. I've got too many miles with the stock gas pedal mapping ingrained in my memory. Anything I tried with the "E" modes just felt retarded and slow, and anything I tried with the "U" modes was just super jumpy right at the top of the pedal.

What did you use for attachment method? I have been using some Velcro for my Hike It x9 but thinking I need something a bit better.

Did this require you to change out the diode to pump the charging a bit?

    “Require” - dunno.
I’ve read all the threads, and the jury seems to be out on whether it’s needed, whether it damages other stuff if you do it, yadda.
Right now, I didn’t do any diode swaps. I’ll watch it, but am also not super worried about it.

Good stuff! I live in U-3 and that is my happy place for daily driving. Gives me the pep I was looking for without any real down side. I had it in their Auto setting for a bit which I didn't mind for driving around town, but my driveway is sloped and when trying to reverse up hill onto the street, I kept finding myself spinning the tires no matter how hard I tried to not spin them.

I was so skeptical of a throttle control making a difference, but it soo does. Makes me smile all the time. Have fun with it and let me know what setting you end up in.

Can you comment on the how secure these lights are mounted? I see they come with metal brackets, but are they just still secured to the plastic bumper cover and bezel? Any shake/rattle with this setup or are you using cable ties to manage?

    Thanks

They attach to the stock ROUND bezels the same way as the OEM (a clip and a screw), except there’s an additional bolt with a rubber cap on it that puts pressure on the back side of the bumper and holds things tight.
I haven’t noticed any of the shake that I saw with the TRD Pro headlights/bezels.

No… aiming to be at the same spot as the TRD Pro Fox with the Westcott collar.

Not that I’ve seen from the CB site.

Are you still running the TRD BBS wheels? They have +60 offset? I'd appreciate a short report on how the UCAs fit. My wheels have +50, and I've highly considered new UCAs since leveling.

Yes, keeping the BBS that are +60.
I do have Bora 1” spacers coming, but will be checking fit/clearance with the wheels at stock setup as well. For science…
