I have an 01 sequoia with the Sherpa Belford roof rack. Had it for a few years, love it, and I’d like to utilize the cut out for a Lightbar. I don’t need a $1500 Lightbar. It’s more for the woods and deer than anything else. Are there any budget brands that are decent quality? Thanks for the help.

I’ve got a nilight bar on my boat that is cheap and doing well. Puts out a lot of light but I’m sure the high dollar bars may be more focused.

I’ve seen that brand and wondered how it would hold up. Glad to hear it’s done well for you. Did you get a white or amber or a mix?

I'll second the nilight brand. Have the 41" bar in the hood bulge of my truck, neighbor has several of their lights on his taco.

White in flood, it’s only 12” but provides enough for my needs and hasn’t leaked.

With lightbar on the roof all you'll be seeing is reflections from the hood and windshield. Lightbar belongs to the front bumper.

I had a nice one from Ironman, 32" dual row Bright Saber. It was really nice.

    Function before sparkle.
I have been running a Caliraised light bar in my grill for years now. They are a little more pricey than the Amazon cheapest, but it's a fraction of the price of the big boy brands, bright and reliable for the dozen times a year I truly need it.

    Phillips from Amazon.

Caliraised, nulite, and one other are all the same clones with different names.
I’m sure the Phillips branded one also is a clone.

I have the Nilight in my bumper. Its doing well and its just over 1.5 years of use. My big draw to the Nilight, was the decent rating and that it was a steal in price to get the backlight feature. Lightbar is white but has the amber backlight. The backlight comes on when I start the truck, so far everything still lights up with no dead spots. I would buy again if I was looking for a budget light.

I've had a cheapo Amazon light bar for years and it's been fine.

The harbor freight brand stuff has been good quality in my experience, although I've only had rock lights from them and wiring harnesses. Seems better made with more quality control than most of the cheap Amazon and eBay stuff I've bought in the past though.

I also have run Nilight for years. Never had any condensation issues (knock on wood). However, in my experience, the Nilights don't throw out as much lumens as advertised, though in my opinion, bright enough (especially with how many I have:rofl:) to justify the savings over premium brands. The brightness difference was apparent when I installed my Ironman 4x4 bumpers that came with their bar and pods, which are of a higher quality.

    Good luck OP!!

Think they meant so you don’t hit them with your truck.
