No thanks. I lived with my mistake of putting a Magnaflow exhaust on our Yukon XL (Suburban). The drone was a killer on long trips towing 7K lbs. We love the silence in this Tundra.

Right. This is why I also added the capstone side glass. Will it make much of a difference? Probably not but f it.

    Laminated glass for noise reduction.

Front side windows are “acoustic” glass on a capstone.

I’ve been told it’s only $50 more per window. Was that true?

    TRD Performance Package and Tune
I purchased a 1794 limited edition back in early may. Before I actually picked up my 1794 LE I ordered the TRD Performance center pipe cat back exhaust and the TRD performance cold air intakes. They were installed in late July and after I picked up the truck not only did I notice a considerable difference in the exhaust note outside the truck and inside, but I swore I could feel more pedal response and the truck seemed faster. I thought I was imagining things until I opened up the fuel door and the TRD Performance sticker was there reminding me to use premium fuel only.

After this I stopped by the dealership to ask them when the tune would be available and they told me that they had installed the Filmware when they were installing the exhaust and the CAI’S.

So yes, maybe I got lucky, but dealerships can install the tune, and it is a noticeable difference and you do get about 50 more ft/lbs of torque in the hybrid tundras.

Capstone side glass is actually cheaper than the regular glass.

    68101-0C050 - MSRP $279.44 - Capstone

    68101-0C060 - MSRP $300.72 - All others

It has been available as an after purchase install since mid June. The calibrations will only work on later production 2024 model year trucks.

They only started putting it on at the factory in the middle of August.

I purchased the intakes from Sparks and had my dealership perform the calibration (which is unofficially confirmed as the tune) after I installed a Borla S-type cat-back. It cost me just an hour of a tech's time. When I first installed the filters without the calibration, it was throwing CELs left and right. I put the stocks back on and then scheduled the calibration with my dealership. They hadn't performed it on any Tundras yet but I brought the Toyota Performance Package Intake Procedure with me and they were able to pull the calibration files off of GTS/TIS and successfully install. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I am loving it.

If you don’t mind me asking, what dealership? I only have about 300 miles on the truck and haven’t been pushing it. It feels like I have more than enough power as is but a little more wouldn’t hurt lol

So would it be safe to say that if I was to get the CAI installed and the calibration/"tune" done (as the CAI does call for it) then would I need to run premium fuel?

Yes, that is correct. The instructions do state that the performance badge and premium fuel sticker must be installed (I don't have them though). But...it also states "This package/document is for PPO (Performance Package Option I assume) & warranty repair only. This package is NOT to be installed DIO" (Dealer Installed Option). I may have gotten lucky with the calibration.

I was already running 91 because we tow our camper just about every weekend. Just turned a little over 5k miles and about half of that has been towing.

Thanks, sorry if I missed it, was there a reason why you didn't go with the TRD Exhaust (tailpipe and centerpipe?) the tip on that tailpipe is sick, very unique matches the truck (with its squared off lines) in my opinion

The Borla is a true dual catback and I really like the dual carbon fiber tips compared to the single octagonal?? tip of the TRD performance exhaust. I ended up putting TRD Pro fenders, spoiler and front bumper cover and heritage grill on the truck so it matches/blends in pretty well.
