Thank you! They all get raced. I had my 990A suspension stretched to 265mm about 6 years ago. I’m currently gathering parts to build a second set of forks and shock with a super tall 300mm travel! My 640A recently got its suspension stretched from the stock length 275mm front/300mm rear, to a 300mm front/320mm rear. Currently it’s under my knife getting some other super special sauce drizzled all over (larger airbox, much larger air filter, weight loss program, FCR41 carb swap, ect, ect, ect).

My current 2012 990R is just as trick. I swapped on blue colored 990S Bedouin body plastics, immobilizer deleted from the ECU, HEAVILY modified wire harness that has been thinned out to very reliable bare minimum, weight loss program, 950SE swingarm, ect, ect, ect. I literally built my dream 990 Adventure KTM didn’t. The bike has something like only 9,000 miles on it.

I love that 640 and with the suspension upgrade that will really make things plush. But your 990 dream build is just that. So pretty and nice diet you have going for it. I always wanted a 950SE when I was riding a lot but it never came to be. Beastly that thing is... When I got into ww kayaking about 15 years ago my moto days became less and less each year for me though. After a few years of complete neglect I ended up selling both of my last 2 bikes last summer. All this bike talk makes me want to twist that throttle again though. Like most things on this site it has me looking at them again. I wouldn't mind a 690 Sumer moto for cruising around town and hot laps up some twisty's again.

Man that is quite the love for kayaking to ditch your bikes! A 690 Enduro would be sweet.

I used to live in south Florida (Weston/Ft Laud) and had a Honda Shadow as my DD. Loved that thing.

I sold it 6 months after moving to UT. Drivers there are terrible. Even bigger dipshits than Coloradans. Case in point, I had sold it to a friend who no less than 2-weeks later, got T-boned by some chick who blew through a stop sign coming out of her apartment complex. Ended up with a broken leg.

Not long after selling the cruiser, I was really missing having a motorcycle, so, I got into dirt biking at the tender age of 32. Started with a YZ250, then a YZ450, and later fell in love with KTMs.

I don’t know how I went so long not having a dirt scooter! Absolutely love it. I joke with the wife that the day I can’t swing my leg over a bike, she may as well load her favorite AR and “put me out to pasture” haha.

when I found myself moving my bikes around in my shed more to get them out of the way so I could go kayaking or mtn biking more often than to move them into the driveway for a ride I realized it was time. The last few years before I sold them I didn't even ride the 950. Rode the 690 only a few times each year. :anonymous:

I use a tiny woman's voice all squeaky like. Seems to get their attention and the reactions of their faces are the best part when they see a grown man right behind them.

Was that sales tax too. If so you got off easy. If I go out of state and buy a new vehicle and bring it home to register, I still have to pay local sales tax. It's 8.7% here in Tucson, so a $55,000 truck would = $4,785 + registration (based on MSRP), so my guess is more than $6k.

Is that for the new truck? If so, that's not terrible...

...Douglas County is a joke. I paid almost $3K for my 2011 Tundy, 2005 GX470, and 1991 MR2 when we first registered them in CO, 5 years ago. My wife got hit with a Returning Resident Fee as a nice welcome back (she's a "native"). We'll have moved to Idaho before our next renewal, thank goodness.

I got a break on the taxes for the trade value of the Taco. Only paid tax on the difference.

Where is this tax going? Seems like a racquet y'all have up there.

edit: just scrolled down a little bit more. to get you covered until 2026 that isn't bad at all considering some of that is tax on your vehicle purchase.
