I always wanted one of those 640's before I bought the 690. So much torque in them and I can see why you'd put longer travel on it if you're riding trails with 4/5 foot drops. I was never that daring to move fast enough to manage that on such a big bike. Mtn bike maybe, but definitely not a dirt bike, let alone an adv touring bike. The whitewater trips made rafting and kayaking so much more fun than a bike for me though. Once you push off from a shore and float into a solitary canyon for a few nights or longer no sport as far as adrenaline wise has ever given me such a high. Every year I paddle my raft or kayak as much as I can. I'm actually about to drive to Oregon on Monday to disappear into the rogue river gorge for 5 nights next week. I can hardly wait to run it as it'll be a first descent for the entire crew going. 2 rafts and 3 kayaks. Here's some pics of trips I did this year. Minus Peru that was 2019

Edit. How could I leave out everyone's favorite quintessential river trip. The Grand Canyon. These are from 2021. IMG_2080.jpg

F***’n A tell me about it - lost $1,500 on one of my Fidelity accounts over the past 10 days

I will say, having a savings account with Ally Bank has been fantastic. It’s currently at 4.20% APY.

Between that and paying/purchasing what I can with a TD cash back credit card (I do not revolve), it racks up to +$500 extra month!

That's a nice apy at ally. Cash back cc's are the best. Every monthly bill goes on it. Paid of monthly. No brainer there.

I am older than OldGuy and nearing retirement (in 4 years). I have money tied up at Fidelity and Vanguard. Money goes up and down but you have to ignore daily swings. By having a high yield guaranteed account or CD you earn a decent return. If you have a hybrid money market and bond fund you earn a little more. I am moving some money into a tax free account to minimize taxes which are overbearing.

Yeah I'm still like 15 years out from retirement and also play this game as well. Vanguard has quit a bit of my money right now. I don't even pay attention to it as my money market manager does well by me overall annually as I watch it grow.

Speaking of savings, here’s an interesting infographic I pulled from Forbes, in June of this year. I was honestly blown away at these figures.

Not sure I'm following your dig but I prefer bacon over sausage, and pink tacos over either of those. Might be that at times I'm slow. :rasta:

Literally each time I drive, the wife would bitch that’s it’s too cold in the car, and then try and crank her side to like 80* and full heated seat. I have her adjust it to 72* cuz I don’t want the warmth coming to my side lol. She now wears a jacket in the car.
