I'm struggling with the wiring. The few videos out there seem to skip right past what wires you don't use in the truck anymore.

    SR5 w/amp. Crutchfield pkg of Rr2, HR TO2, and KEN1

    What are these 3 wires?

Is this where I plug in the USB adapter I got?
    17268054773815615555146646870971.jpg

    Or gps hook up?
    17268055643047470714828035347034.jpg

Does my antenna need to be wired into a power source?

Whatever help would be appreciated. I'm struggling to know what is required.

I replaced my USB adapter a couple weeks ago due to a bad cable and it plugged into that square plug you’re holding.

Where does the usb side go to?

Answer : It was late and I had been staring at this too long. The balck USB cord 9n the radio plugs into this, I was looking for a port on the back of your radio like you'd see on your PC and was confused.

Call Crutchfield, they should be able to help you. If I get to that spot with my Sony install I def would do that.

Gray square is USB. Looks like you’re holding the adapter you need in the second picture.

White and black round connectors are satellite antennas. One is for Sirius satellite radio and one is navigation, though I forget which is which. You’ll need one of the Maestro antenna adapters to adapt the truck’s coax connector to the Kenwood’s GPS input you have pictured, I think it comes in the STO2 kit but you’ll want to plug your vehicle into the website and see what accessories they recommend for your 2019.

I think the antenna power output on the Kenwood is only used for the 90s Toyotas that had power telescoping antennas.

Awesome! Get it all wrapped tight and put into the dash nicely or you’ll be chasing annoying rattles. I dunno how many times I had mine out until it was finally quiet.

And THAT is why I just bit the bullet and paid the professionals to install mine!

Kudos to you, I just don't have the patience or motivation to do shit like this anymore.

Yes, I paid way more than I liked, but it was nice just dropping it off and picking it up after work, and not needing to go to the chiropractor after.

    You're gonna dig the 1057!

Yeah, I got a long punch down list still.

    - Wire wrap + Zip tie
    - Research + purchase solution for accessing hdmi input.
    - Buy an adapter for OEM XM antenna
    - Replace grey radio imsert with black
    - Flush mount screen (i extended it before install)
    - Buy and install a front camera
    - Install mic
    - I saw something where your trans temp can be viewed via a series of resets, so I gotta do that.

Instantly better audio. My stock speakers sound amazing compared to the oem headunit.

How is this unit Kenwood DMX1057XR performing for you? Was the install pretty intrusive? plug and play? I am thinking about putting this in as I see it very popular with the Tundra folks.

Just got mine on Saturday and installed it Yesterday. Install, while intimidating, was not as bad as i was expecting with how many wires and adapters were involved. Ultimately watching videos referenced here made it very do-able. As others have said, sound quality is really dramatically better. I also already had an alpine amp in place of the stock amp, so i wasn't expecting a tremendous result, but the improvement is undeniable.

    Resources:
Read as much as you can from above as well as the instructions / diagrams included and watch these videos.

The videos referenced above give a great starting point for the positioning. I started flush and raised the screen up to one of the highest positions and it worked out really well.

    PRO TIPS:
    1. To adjust the brightness set the dimmer to sync -> click in on the volume dial (knob) -> hit Display in the top left -> program headlights on + headlights off variants of backlight / brightness / contrast etc
    2. The center speaker grill (and speaker) on top of the dash is a relatively quick and easy way to access the cables behind the head unit. I used to to access the cables to help move them out of the way on the install and also to access the rr2 without uninstalling.
    * Credit for referring me (and others) to the above videos goes to @Desolate
