IMG_4115.jpg First post here. I had a 2015 Nissan Frontier that I got in my 20s when I had just a one-year old kid. After nearly 10 dependable years, 160k miles, and 2 more kids since then, I wanted to upgrade. I’ve always wanted a Tundra, I got a surprisingly decent trade in for my Frontier, so I figured what the hell.

Grabbed a 2024 SR5 SX Edition. Has the 3” factory lift. Tonneau cover was on back order, but hopefully will be here soon. Also waiting on some running boards so my kids can get in easier. I’m a simple man, so this had everything I needed. Love the minimalist look of the SX.

1k miles in, and I absolutely love it so far.

Although part of me wishes I never found this forum. I keep listening for loud cabin sound, rattles from the bed of the truck when the rear window is down, leaking transmission fluid, and my engine to explode and shoot me out of the cab like an airplane ejector seat. :)

For now though, I’m loving the ride.

Traded my 2014 Tundra Limited TRD Offroad for a new one. 181k miles on the first one. Hopefully the new one lives up to expectations!
Old one was never once in the shop for an unscheduled repair.

New one is miles more advanced than the old one. So far I love it. Its comfortable, quiet, and has way more power.
New one is a 2024 Limited with Premium Package and PVM 4x4. Certified used lease return with 11,000 miles on it. I do miss the seats in the old one right now and the old cab was cavernous by comparison.

Traded an F250 diesel, beautiful truck but at only 32k miles, 12 recalls, death wobble & oil leak, I'm done with Ford. Picked up a 24 Tundra Limited in Smoked Mesquite. Hopefully this will be much more reliable & I don't tow alot anymore so it should be fine. Love it so far, 575 miles.20240304_145135.jpg 20240915_183422.jpg

I recently purchased a used 23 Tundra Limited Hybrid MAX with 5,000 miles on it. Replacing a ( don't hate) Honda ridgeline which will be given to my son to replace his 205K mile MDX

Took it on a 400 mile round trip this weekend, and other than slight headliner squeak by the controls- seems pretty solid- wish me luck! first time straying from honda in a long time

For those that have had the gen 3 for a bit and came from a 2.5 how do you feel over all? Total Upgrade? Better in some areas worse in others? All bad?
    Thanks

I had a 2020 sport premium for 4 years. My 23 is a lot more modern in features.
The one thing I miss is the direct or connected feeling of the drivetrain of the 5.7. The new twin turbo will pull the v8 no problem but the day to day driving always feels like you’re spooling up the turbo. It’s hard to describe. I feel like maybe it’s part transmission programming but in town driving feels to me like when you take off it’s similar to pulling away in a manual with the clutch half engaged, building rpm’s faster them forward momentum.
The seats in my 2020 were like a big comfy couch.
If I had it my way, Toyota would be like gm/ford and offer both the TT V6 and the old V8 with the new 10 speed. I’d bet the real world fuel economy would be very similar.
