Just curious if any of you have this same issue. If I'm in a parking lot, and close to an object in front, my forward proximity alert will beep at me while I'm in reverse. It's so annoying. I'm like, "I know! I'm backing up!!" lol. You'd think a simple programming update could fix this this.

Yes, same behavior. My left thumb is getting very good at muting.

Try reverse when backing a trailer. It will go crazy reminding you that you have a trailer (and here I'm wondering whey a boat is following so close on the road).

Yep, mine does the same thing until I'm actually out of the beeping zone.

    So dumb.

Truck Computer: There's something in front of you!
Me: I know! I'm backing away from it.
TC: There's an obstacle in front of you.
Me: Shouldn't you be more concerned with what's behind me??
TC: Watch out! It's still in front of you, albeit slightly further away now!!!
    Me: Shut up!!
TC: Phew. That was a close one.

Imagine a scenario where the truck disables the front sensors while in reverse. As you back out of your parking spot, you accidentally swipe a column with the front end and feel frustrated because the sensors didn’t warn you. While I understand the annoyance, it’s beneficial to have front sensors, especially since there may be obstacles you can't see. Perhaps programming could adjust the sensors so that they only activate when you start moving, rather than when you’re simply in reverse.

I would rather have them on and once I don't hear any beeps then I know I'm not near something, but thats just like my opinion man

Yeah, I don't have any issues with it either. It does make sense why it beeps until you are at a certain distance from objects regardless of being in D or R. A long time ago (Before sensors), I got in a hurry not paying close attention and did exactly what you are mentioning and swiped a pillar backing out in a parking garage.

Yes. Constantly. Somewhat annoying but I can live with it.

Yeah, I hear ya. I can see the logic for a possible side swipe issue. But for the tree directly in front of my truck...I see it, I'm backing away from it. lol

i am thinking its probably if backing up and turning its to ensure you dont whack it turning into it probably as you are backing up.

i have had my wife back up and miss a pole in her blind spot and a few months later my son hit the same pole backing up and blind spot.

that was funny since it was at the 4th ave DQ.

a few years later they removed the pole.
