Here we are at Machu Picchu

At the Taj Mahal. Drove through the pool after this pic was taken. The crowd cheered wildly. Gave a solid "U-S-A!! U-S-A!!" cheer out the window as I did it.

Loved the Alps. Ate some fondue on the tailgate

And here we are at Kilimanjaro. Drove to the summit. Had to drop her to 4 low but was a piece of cake

This was just west of Missouri Valley, IA. The lights are a rest area on I-29.

I should have found a darker spot, but it was already midnight and I had a meeting at 0730 I had to call into.

Both my wife and a co-worker got to see them for the first time, so that was cool.

Also amusing was driving the (smoothest ever) minimum maintenance road. We were a mile and a half off the gravel on a road that dead ends in another mile. My co-worker is originally from India, but has lived in the states for the past 30 some years - his entire adult life. I pulled slightly to the side and stopped so he wouldn't have to step out into the ditch.

He was VERY concerned I was blocking the road. I conceded that I was blocking a third of the road, but we could see anyone coming for about 3 miles and it was extremely unlikely anyone was coming down a dead end road at midnight on a Thursday.

 

We drove clear to Wyoming last night, didn’t see anything. Oh well. Feels like I’m hungover this morning and I haven’t had a drink in years. Too old to stay up that late
