right on. I like the look of the amber DRLs, but appearances come secondary to output. I’d have to polish the pinstripes out to really make it look presentable…

Just got done upgrading my headlights, big thanks to iHacker.

I got the harness that retained the amber drl (no led ring), and when the parking lights are on or the headlights, the led ring is in the low setting. Very happy. Was easy plug and play.

I bought from sparks parts. Took a few days to ship but the service was decent.

Got my TRD pro headlights installed with the @1lowlife style amber DRL harness from @iHacker. I may have looked like this

But the harness plugs made it easy to figure out.

Probably took me an hour tops with adjusting the beams. It probably took longer to take everything apart than swapping the light with harness, since It was my first time pulling the grill and didn't want break anything.

Very nice setup. Thanks again @iHacker for the excellent harness.

For info I got my headlights from Toyota in lithia Oregon, a little cheaper than Sparks parts and shipping was better since I'm in CA. They did email to confirm a VIN and ask about a conversion harness before shipping but once that was done I had them in a few days

    https://www.lithiatoyotaparts.com

Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total
    81110-0C211 Headlight Right $283.21
    81150-0C211 Headlight Left $283.21

    Total: $649.53

I think I have read enough posts in this topic to get this done... well I hope :)
I have a 2017 Tundra SR5 Doublecab. It has the Amber DRL that's the same as the image in the first topic.
The pic is perfect, as that is the vehicle same color and grill on mine

Looking to replace it with the TRD Pro
    https://www.sparksparts.com/search?search_str=81110-0c211+81150-0c211

My wiring options are limited, so I will be OK with the non dimming option.
2014-17 TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED Non-Dimming LED DRLs (Bright mode all the time) $110 +shipping

Is the info above correct, that I can order that headlamp, iHacker's harness, and together they will work for my 2017 SR5?

The headlamp noted above has the DRL led strip on the top and bottom correct? On Sparks they do not show it lighted
    Thanks in advance :)

    @TTKage
Why not get the ihacker plug and Play harness. Amber DRL all the time and optional LED DRL dimmed in the parking light position

This is what I ordered and installed
Part Number Part Name Price Quantity
    81110-0C211 Headlight Right $283.21

lol.. @Shawsmash last time I messed with wiring, the turn signal made the horn honk!

OK, it wasn't that bad, but... Me and wiring, even with the pics and detailed images that @iHacker shows, leaves me weary. I htink for my safety, and others, :) I will stick with the non dimming option on the harness

I wish the prices right now at Sparks was closer to your prices show. They are $322 each right now. I found them a bit less on Amazon, but they are not OEM

That's the price I paid 2 weeks ago at a dealer in Oregon not even to bad for shipping to CA. I wasn't overly impressed with Sparks Parks checkout interface.

Your choice obviously but the ihacker harness requires almost no thought. Just keep pushing plugs till everything clicks in.

I get three modes just by twisting the headlight switch

I do like the looks of the 3 modes, pic #2 with the amber and the led strips looks sweet. Those look like a beast!

I agree on not impressed with Sparks. I worried about buying from a lessor priced vendor on being the proper ones or not, or a knockoff/wrong year version. Still up in the air on the actual headlamp seller, but I was stoked to find @iHacker has the harnesses!
I hope to hear from him soon.

I may have missed a step. When I read the order page for the lights, I swore it said that the VIN was optional. Now when looking at the order status, mind it says nothing... not processing, not back ordered, just says nothing on status... but it does have a spot for the VIN so they can check fitness on the part. So I sent a contact us message, hopefully that's the problem and they can get my lights rollin.

I didn't put no VIN because it would hqve not matched my truck and they would have bor send headlights. If you leave no VIN it should say your responsibility if it doesn't fit.

Just an update and a warning. For those that keep the Amber DRL, I noticed some cloudiness in the turn signal reflector, as I believe the 28w bulb in the new housing wasn’t designed to be run full on constantly. I think the heat is affecting the housing.

Installed some vled T6 tritons, and promptly blew the Parking light fuse. So ended up going back to the halogen bulbs and for the meantime disabled the DRL by pulling the grey wire.

Debating whether to spring for the harness that has full functionality with DRL led rings, or just not running DRL going forward.

edit: Here’s another thread I found with similar results.

I have a 2015 SR5 with amber DRL's. I just ordered 2018+ TRD Pro LED lights from Toyota and need to get a wiring harness. I would like to have the dimming option...I think that's the $130 harness, but please correct me if I'm mistaken. I want them to work like factory installed. Please send a price and method of payment. Looking forward to clear headlights again!

For anyone looking to buy these in the next week, Gettel Toyota of Lakewood has 25% off for the next 7 days, 15hrs. My total price shipped for both left & right came out to $518.07. I've seen in the comments that some have found them for just under $500 at times, but I was happy with this price.

Just use some regular LED bulbs.
I've been running these for 2 years no issues at all..
But you'll need a resistor for the turn signal to prevent hyperflash.
