I have a wire from my battery through the grill with an SAE connector, then use a Battery Tender brand trickle charger on my truck. My motorcycle and pop's tractors all use Battery Tender brand trickle chargers too.

The tender doesn't stay on the truck when it's disconnected.

I use Genius 1 maintainers. In fact I have several for my trucks and tractors. They have a pair of pigtails with eyelets you can permanently attach to the battery and the cable from the Genius maintainer just snaps to the pigtail.

Looking for plastic fog light blanks for an 00-02. Like this:
    IMG_0318.jpg

Only place I can seem to find them online is ToyotaPartsDeal and the dealership. They want $50 for each. Anyone have a link?

I’m trying to mount LED fogs, but nobody makes a mount or kit for 00-02s. I need something to fill the space between the bumper and the light- just having a hole there would drive me nuts. I honestly didn’t know that you could get headlight blanks for pre-facelifts, must not have been common.

Just to be clear, you are wanting FOGlight opening blanks and not HEADlight opening blanks, correct?

Am I crazy for thinking that $50/ea is unreasonable?

I really wish there was a custom/aftermarket bracket available. Because unless I spend the money on the OEM blanks, there's no telling if they're going to be suitable for mounting a light or not.

These are low volume trucks when new, now there's been 20+ years of attrition and already modded units. Market is small, demand is low. Just having parts available is a plus. If it's something you cant build yourself, or needs to be pretty and finished instead of homemade, $50 each ain't exorbitant. That said, I would likely get fogs that fill the opening and skip the trim bits.

Yeah, I guess I'll take what I can get.

I actually have OEM fog housings/brackets to replace my old ones- I can't remember who on here gave them to me. My initial plan was to bake them open and mount Baja Design S2s or similar on the inside of the housing, then put the glass back on.

I was thinking that flush mounting lights in those blanks would be a lot easier, if they're angled correctly. Just want something that looks OEM+.

Those don't look too bad. I like how simple his mounting solution is- just bolted right to be metal bumper. Doubles the light cost though, as you need 2 on each side.

I also have Battery Tender brand chargers for numerous vehicles and recommend them.
I hardwired the pigtails like @des2mtn, easy to plug/unplug, plus then you can easily use it on another vehicle with the alligator clips if needed without unwiring it from whatever vehicle it’s used for primarily.
One of the chargers is the ‘Marine’ model and is waterproof, I’ll use that on my tractors sometimes and it doesn’t matter if it gets rained on.

Did anyone know this sort of driving was possible with a pickup? Out of all the guys who get pranked by this female professional driver, only one of them is having a good time.

It might benefit you to go browse around the local junk yard to look first if you're on the fence with the Ebay ones.

Any of the recommendations are fine, I use Noco but anything will work.

Wrap the extension cord around the side mirror though, you'll think "I'm not an idiot I'll remember to unplug it" you won't one time.

Unless you're going to be fancy and get an auto ejector for the plug.

Yeah and this was sort of my fault. I only stopped here because our air pressure light came on and there aren't many gas stations in the area. Gas seems to be around $4.50 everywhere else. Which is still awful :notsure:. We tried to stop at a Costco north of San Fran but they don't sell gas.

$4-4.50 is the norm down here but it's been slowly going down. I pay under $4 on the Rez.

    $2.50-2.75 in TN.

I'm seeing a lot of Best Gens on this trip. Benefits of not having frame rot here in CA. But most of them are clapped out.
