ALWAYS in sport mode with Hybrid. At the 6K miles mark in a little over a year, Im at 15.9 MPG. half the miles are in the "city", half the miles are on the free way (~500 long trips) sitting at 65-75 MPH in adaptive cruise.

I use eco for around town to smooth out the frequent start/stops as in stop lights and such. Makes it a little less jerky then normal or sport.

I like the heavy steering in sport, but don't want the high rpm when cruising. I wish the sr5 trim had a custom mode that let you differentiate the steering from the transmission.

So far 140 miles on this tank in sport mode only I'm getting 17.3 mpg which is better than normal mode. Idk why is that, kind of surprised, 340 miles to go on this tank, will see if this will change

Tow Haul reduces any torque limiting so the truck can accelerate the fastest/pull hardest maybe holds 1 gear lower...Tow Haul + limits gears further...my best acceleration times with a draggy not just feel are in Tow Haul

Eco bad unless you like driving a sweat lodge in the summer

I see very little difference is modes in terms of MPG. But I drive the same regardless of mode.

My only preference for sport is the steering feels a little lighter. And the nanny safety systems seem slightly less intrusive and beepy. Those observation maybe related

For the first several months after getting mine I left it in Eco because I was not hauling or towing anything at all. Have left it in Normal for the last year and it drives much more responsive and immediate as far as driver inputs. Even in tow\haul and Eco the delay of trans shifts and power delivery are very noticeable…. Now, first thing I do upon startup is turn off auto start/stop, and make sure I’m in Normal mode.

    i don't see any difference between tow/tow+ , I'm mostly towing 10ft v-nose though. 12 mpg while towing

related to that, do you notice frequent jerks in the shifts with a lot of stop and go (mainly stop signs) with the transmission? I noticed this more on normal mode than eco with my sequoia, but wanted to confirm if this was normal behavior

Why not custom? All jokes aside I have my engine in normal mode.

Yeah the trans is definitely more jerkey on normal around town. It's noticeable but not that bad, easy enough to leave it in eco anyways for the stop and go.
