Before I got my grill I had ordered a 32" light bar. I was planning to install in the lower opening below the license plate but instead I installed behind the grill. After installing the grill and light bar I think that I should have ordered a 40". What fits best a straight or curved 40-42"? Also is anyone running a light bar in both locations? The one I have is plenty bright enough but I am really tempted to go longer. I do not like having unused stuff sitting around so I thought that I would install both even though one seems to put out enough light. Also, I do not want to negatively affect the radiator cooling.

I am running the Rough Country LED LB in the lower bumper for a really clean fit and finish. It's very very bright.
Thought about running the Headlight Revolution LB behind the grill. You can google both or do a search on here. Both are fairly reasonably priced for off road lighting.

I like the RC which comes with really strong rock solid black wrinkle powder coated mounting brackets. Rigid and Baja design are nice lights, but since I am not running the Dakar Rally and use my LB so little, I went with RC, 3 yr warranty. Happy.

RC- disregard the reflection on the top of the cab, trick photography, which I don't know how to untrick.

Straight or curved? Looks like you have on above the license plate too. I was thinking about doing the same thing even though the 32" I have behind the grill puts out plenty of light. Not sure I need 2 or even if I would notice much difference.

It's a straight...one above license plate is from Rough Country was made for Tundra...but I've seen on here some other guys have a double row as well...Headlight Revolution.com makes one for inside for PRO grille has a cool HALO switch... I'm looking into ditch lights as well Ragofabrication.com sells brackets

I like the led bars from rugged country. They are incredibly bright and look absolutely stunning.

Are you running off 1 or 2 wiring harnesses and switches? The combo I am looking at would be 35 amps. I would prefer to run off one harness but I believe 35 amps would be bumping right up against the limit of my wiring.

Yes. I went with the black series. A double stack 30" in front and two 2x8 units on either side of the tow package tucked up underneath the rear bumper. Those rear units are insanely bright. Great when you need more light behind your or when some moron wants to tailgate you. 8)

had a F150 with a switched 300w KC on the roll bar/light bar for the tailgaters. I think just seeing that KC up there discouraged them. Only a little sports car would be bothered by the 18 watt back up lights I installed. I have the the solution for adding a 40" bar behind the grill and the 32" down below. When I bought the 32" I also bought a relay not knowing that one came with the light bar. Since I prefer one switch and already have the relay I can split the output form the switch to 2 relays. The easy way is to run one relay and split the wires to the light. I just not comfortable running 35 amps on 12 gauge wire. Looks like I am buying another light bar.

I actually didn't use their provided switch. I had separate plasmaglow switches installed, one for the front and one for the rear.

I did not use supplied switch on mine. It was a rocker and I wanted a push button to fit slot left of steering wheel. I have not wired up one switch to 2 relays but do not see a problem. On my Tacoma I had 4 KCs on 2 switches and 2 relays because one set was driving lights and the other was spots.

Any impact on the engine cooling? I would think that with the reduction in air flow you might be running a little warmer.

Runs the same. Always below the middle. I tow a good amount and there's no problems. Idle a lot also 105k 0 problems. But I am in Minnesota I'm not dealing with like Califorina heat.
The bars don't cover the whole rad. I've done a similar setup on a friend's raptor 0 problems.

A rigid 40 fits perfectly flush with the grill.

Did you mount the bar to the grille or is it mounted to something sturdier behind the grille?

I actually bought two plasma glow switches and mounted them on the lower right side on the bottom part of the dash near to my right knee when sitting in the truck. One red for the rear lights, one blue one for the front, the buttons light up when they are activated. I even went one step further and had them tied into my viper alarm remote. I the aux button and the front and rear lights come one, hit it again they turn off. Works wonderfully.
