Stillen Intake folks...where you at? TP403210 TP403211

so is there a v2? are they still selling this v1?

 

yep, I had the AFE kit and it was all new boxes...top and bottom, not a hack job lid like the ones we got here.

 

I’ve got no idea what they are selling bud. All I know is they have to make some changes to the lids and possibly the front air duct hoses so it will be different than what we got.

 

I also disliked that the Stillen didn't have that seal from the fender opening so what I did was utilized my TRD accelerator. I had to cut about an inch off the Stillen box and used a hose clamp to get a good seal but I made it work. A few others on here have managed to do the same without cutting their box... @pvn.beluga is one
The other CAI's are basically just a direct replacement of what the Tundra already has IMO. With Stillen, you get the more air intake without cutting a hole into your fender(SABM).

Just to clarify, this is in reference to the 2.5 gen Stillen CAI. Overall, I'm happy with mine but even more so after making certain improvements to it that Stillen could have done initially.

 

Yeah, what a cheesy AF way to cut corners on the intake by only giving you poorly fab'd half boxes but still charging just as much or more than the other intakes that fit like they're supposed to with all new boxes.

 

I'm curious to know what they are selling and shipping out TODAY. Like if someone were to order this today, what will they receive? v1 or v2? If they receive v2 how come @eddiefromcali and the others issues have not been rectified?

Dont think theyre selling a v2 kit yet. Probably just taking orders and letting buyers know theres a backorder....Id hope

 

Mine was real tight when installed with the TRD intake accelerator.

 

I hope their Total Control does not reflect their track record….

 

I HATE that they molded in that notch the OEM box has, but decided not to utilize the extra rubber bung to hold it next to the fender like the OEM has

 

Previous revisions did utilize that grommet… seriously don’t know what cost savings in materials there was to remove that nipple.

 

I give up, called in to get process started on refund and was asked to send an email so they can send it up the chain to get approved

 

No update for me either. Was sent about 24hrs ago.

 

Over a week with no returned call, 4 days with no response to email when I finally did reach someone in the shop (who was supposed to give me a resolution by yesterday).
Screw this, just going to my CC company now as this is absolutely ridiculous

 

Austin replied to me yesterday. Said he's been sick and will try to get an update today or Monday. We shall see.

Stillen seems to be a petri dish for bugs because every time I've reached out...someone in some department is out sick.

 

Stiller is full of shit!! Very disappointed at how they’ve handled this. No customer service or support. They were on this forum like flies on shit when they where pitching their intakes.
I don’t even have their product and I’m very upset. Now that they have your money your in your own…

 

Who at Stillen has covid this week?

 

Afe kit didn't fit my 21 fender well at all. Used some home depot weather strip over the top and sides but couldn't get my hands underneath. Half inch gaps all around.

 

They've been busy focusing on new products rather then fixing flawed ones

I am also in email correspondence with someone else in sales at Stillen who responded to my inquiry and said they are actively working on a resolution and will ensure an update is provided as soon as they have it.

I’ve provided all the notes/issues experienced over again and also referencing this thread and the whole Brianna departure.

 

Got the RMA for the intake (full refund) and the TruControl (restocking fee which is fine). Both sent off back to Stillen today

 

I'm thinking they might want all of us to just return our kits and continue selling as is, without revising it. If we all return it, they no longer have to revise it as promised...they'll just let others deal with it as is.

Just WOW, I can maybe see a start up company doing stuff like this, but Stillen has been around since I was maybe in high school.? Like mid 80's or something?? Could be remembering wrong but like the same time frame that Downey Toyota was in its prime.?

 

yup, I've now emailed sales@stillen.com and customerservice@stillen.com hoping to get a freaking answer to this nonsense.

 

Totally unrelated(sort of) but I ordered a 1/4" drive magnetic socket set from Amazon made by Sunex Tools and it had two 14mm sockets n was missing the 13mm. Emailed them yesterday morning 10/6(a Sunday) and by 10/7(today) at 7:00am already got a response that they are sending me the 13mm.

Sure I know this is a bit different situation but the point is that this is what great customer service should look like.

I honestly think if Brianna was still around, you guys would at least be getting updates and weekly assurances things are being worked out. Me thinks that may be why they let her go? Because she disclosed the truth that Stillen f'd up so now they are having to make things right except they're not making things right
