    I keep thinking of doing this (transferring my LLC to MT) but if I get into an accident and insurance knows I mainly drive in CO- I heard they can tell me to pound sand and won’t cover me. Any truth to that?

    • Starting July 1, 2023, a new Electric Tax of $70-$1,100 is being added by the State Legislature for Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles. The tax amount is based on the type of vehicle (electric or plug-in) as well as the vehicle weight (divided into 4 “classes” of vehicle based on gross weight).

    Well it was short lived. Had a 4x4 post fall off a truck and I hit it at 75 mph with my front passenger tire. We are at 8k in damages so far.

    So far: front coilover, front wheel/tire, rear wheel was peppered with wood (needs repainted), inner fender liner, strut tower, Roush logos and some other specific parts, and paint.

    One of my HS buddies was with me. I just picked him up from an indoor shooting range and was merging in the highway.

    He was so shocked I was totally calm and collected. Nothing I could do about it.

    I'll get it fixed and drive it like I planned. No biggie.

    Ironically my brother drove down the day before the accident and was complaining about all the debris on the road. He actually had to dodge a pallet of sod on the freeway. I told him it isn't that bad in Colorado. That opinion changed the next day.

    Nothing I did could fix it. I was more focused on not being killed by the traffic that was not moving over. I totally understand why the lawmakers in CO made it a law to move over for disabled vehicles and first responders. People are flippen idiots here.

    I've been there with a blown tire on the side of I-70. Drivers in CO used to be cognizant and aware. Then everyone moved here and brought all the bad habits of driving like assholes everywhere.

    I have a new teen driver and I have instructed her to lay out flares and get as far off the road as possible in the event of a flat.

    It just blows my mind and got a taste of what tow truck drivers/LE/first responders go through on a daily basis.

    Tell your daughter (and other family) that whenever possible, they are safest to not be sitting in a disabled vehicle on the side of the road. If safe/possible get out of the car and stand on the other side of a barrier wall, etc...

    It's bad enough w/people that can't figure out that their car goes where their head goes (unless conscientious about it), but DUIs will unconsciously steer toward flashing or strobing red lights... This is why so many cops and their vehicles get hit on the roadside :thumbsup:
