We rescued. Our friends with a potential Plott also rescued. We won’t buy dogs, we don’t do pure breeds. We and most of the people we know only rescue. Our Plott is definitely a mix of some sort. Possibly lab. Not sure.

So... the 'event' has been open since about midnight yesterday, and Santa has yet to see your hat tossed in the ring :boink:

If you miss out again this year, it's off to the perma naughty list for you...

Plus, Santa may have to click his 'ignore' button so he doesn't have to hear you whine for the next 12 months :santa2:

WHoa. Figure out your hourly wage with that quote... impressive. I figure I saved about $200 in 2hrs doing my shocks today. Plus we know nothing was done half assed. The Ladies like a guy who can do shit too.... I got fed like royalty today hahaha.
EDIT: She made me two grilled cheese with egg and bacon on them, and a side of fancy fall cake garnished with fresh raspberries, brought and served to me.
She's gotten good at mashing my food buttons.

The hardest part for me is the mental gymnastics that have to be done daily. Filtering everything I say and do, while shit just goes off the rails and gets more absurd.
That leaves me exhausted mentally most days, much more so than any physical work. It's like a game, and I Hate playing games/being fake.
A bunch of co-workers seem to just let it roll right off them, doesn't bother them at all. But it's because they don't give 1 fk about the place, or their work IMO.
I've given more than I ever should have to my employer... Pride in my work and ownership of the place in general for 30 years. It's a shame really.
A guy gets to the point where you either speak your mind, and get canned, or just plain stop giving a shit. I've had difficulty trying to stop caring...
Drinking helped:rofl:, but I quit that about 10 years ago. Probably a good choice, but that knot in my guts never goes away now.

I heard a metaphor a while back about anger, and that it's like a grenade. You either throw it at others around you, or you swallow it.
Eating those grenades every day isn't good for you. I hope you find somewhere else, and some peace

Worse dog I've ever had was a pure bread dalmatian.
The two best dogs I had were mutts. One was a rescue. Pretty sure she was a mix of JRT, rat terrier, and dachshund. Super smart, super loving, super crazy.

WTG! I think I just heard prices climb 30%.

Please tell me the decision wasn't Sublime-motivated (Lou Dog).

Maybe it's just the "1st gen Tundra effect", but ever since we rescued our pup, I've gradually been seeing them EVERYWHERE. One of our friends was so stoked about how awesome she was, they basically held out to rescue a Plott mix that was really bad off (I posted a pic on here recently), emaciated, with heartworms. He's pretty awesome, lighter colored coat, but a proper tail. They're great dogs though. SMART. And really respond well to two 20-30 minute walks a day. They are hunting dogs, they were brought here from Germany to hunt bears. They cam be prey focused, but with some attention while walking early, you can reel that in pretty significantly. (at least, we did). Coco was a quick learner, and has picked up almost every trick I've ever tried to teach her other than "speak".
Man, now you mention it, I don't know what's more tempting. I think I might actually want to be on the perma-naughty list a little more than doing Secret Santa!

I bought a Stihl BG86 leaf blower today. I have a ton of leaves and my battery powered blowers just can't keep up. I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. I thought this thing would have more power than it does. The only upside is that I won't have to recharge every 20 minutes. I guess if I wanted real power I need to spend big money on a backpack blower.

After working for a landscaping company the past couple summers and using professional-series equipment, I went and bought a used backpack blower. I was weary of buying a used blower, especially one used by a landscaping company, but the professional stuff is built so so so much better. It's gotta be 15 years old and it runs like a top. It's so much better, especially with the wet, sticky, heavy magnolia leaves and pedals from the giant tree above my driveway.

I still have my battery blower, but I only use it to get leaves out of the garage or off the deck.
