2002 Sequoia limited need frontend suspension rebuilt

Hi All,

I need to get all the suspension rebuilt on our Sequoia so that I can get an alignment done. This is what I am planning on replacing for the frontend suspension.

Outer Tie Rod and Inner Tie Rod for both front passenger and driver side. Driver or Passenger Side Sway Bar Link and upper and lower ball joints for both driver and passenger side. I was wondering am I missing anything that I should replace? Also any feedback would be greatly appreciated as well.

 

Also is Detroit axle a good place to order these parts from?

 

You'll get more traction in the 1st gen tundra side because it's more active. Short answer is the lower ball joints NEED to be OEM only with new bolts and all. Preferably all the parts you need would be OEM but the price may not be right for you. We have had a member or two report that the Detroit axle tie rods aren't great either. @bmf4069

Are you having issues getting it aligned as it is? Are your cam bolts seized? Lower control arm bushings in decent shape? (No cracks etc)

 

I'd go with a different brand than DA. They just repackage Moog garbage apparently.

 

Thanks for the feedback and I was told they could not align it until that work was done. I am getting a second shop to look at it Thursday to see what they say.

Regardless of second opinion if you haven't done or have a record of the lower ball joints being replaced (or the timing belt) with OEM at some point you need to put that on your to do list. How many miles are on it?

 

If I remember correctly around 130k maybe a little higher. I know the timing belt was done like 120k or 115k so I think I am good there for a little longer. I will have to look at the paper work we got with the Sequoia to see what all frontend work has been done before we got it.
