    Any baseball fans out there?

Lifelong dodgers fan, but either way, what a game 1.

p.s. no need to post and say you don't like baseball, lol.

    Stat of the night -

Nestor Cortes faced three batters, threw two pitches, got one out, and gave up 4 runs.

As a Mets fan, F.F.F. has been a nightmare for me his entire career.

But that was a monster swing. He’s been lights out all postseason

Hopefully every game is like that and it goes to 7. Great start to the series. I don't have a dog in this fight but did bet a friend lunch. I took the Dodgers even though I'm an American League guy. Just feel the Dodgers have the advantage with pitching and I want a free lunch

I feel the dodgers bullpen is better , much deeper with quality arms. But I would give the starter advantage to the Yankees .

dodgers offense is so disciplined , not many wild swings, just grind you to death and super deep

beating them on a Cole start is huge !!

    Go Yankees!

But Yamamoto. Wow. Proved again that pitch selection, pitch location and keeping batters off balance is more important than being 6’8” and a slave to actual and perceived velocity. Give me guys like Yamamoto and Maddox in a big game any day. As much as I want the Yankees to win, it sure seems that the Dodgers bullpen is just too deep, too many good arms throwing great at the right time this year. And the timely hits from the Dodgers hurt us too. Seemed like last night in the 9th was our shot… now down 2-0… that’s one steep hill to climb. At this point, I’m just hoping the Yankees survive to see game 6.

Judge needs to find his bat. I didn’t think he’d wet the bed this much. Been a great series to watch, but living in SoCal I hate seeing all these random dodgers fans.

I watch a ton of dodger baseball since I was a kid, I don’t remember ever seeing a full team this discipline at only swinging in the zone, very impressive so far . Great defense as well

ps , lux was safe at home, his hand got in there and the catcher blocked be plate, no path there at all

I was honestly expecting a more challenging first couple of games from the yankees...seems to me like the Mets gave us a harder time from the get go. I think the fact that Judge is struggling and Stanton and Soto arent really producing is affecting the team and the fans...I think we heard boos in one of Judge's at bats.

PS...I hope we dont pursue Soto, just doesnt seem like the right fit for this team dynamic they have going on.

About Lux, I think he was out. Looked like the catcher only blocked the runner's path once he had the ball, which he is allowed to do. I couldn't see his hand touch the plate from all the angles they replayed.

Thats not my interpretation of the current rules. You can ONLY block the plate if the throw takes you there and its bang/bang, not set-up there after you have the ball to block it like he did dropping his knee covering the entire path.

it doesnt matter anymore, but thought that was interesting ruling.

dodgers pitching is just wearing them out with spin off the plate with just enough fastball taste. Then last night, they couldn't catch up to the heat either.

and I TOTALLY agree on Soto, I don't like the way he plays the game, too much Tatis in. him, I don't like that cocky showing people up type thing at all.

I would much rather sign Teoscar

and the strike zone being all over the place helped/hurt both teams but in more/less important at bats. That was probably the worst I've seen this post season

ya agreed, zone was all over the place. That high strike on the Yankees was a little bit of a gift but the calls were shit against the dodgers too.

games like that are whats driving the automated strike zone me thinks

Your dodger fan is showing. Catcher provided a path until he was actively making the tag.

I guess we need to find the rule and read it, I didn't think you can block the plate "making the tag", you only allowed there if the momentum of the throw and play takes you there, not just block the plate by putting your knee across the entire thing, block it to make the tag. I didnt see the throw take him over there, dodger fan or not.

obviously the rules have changed a lot since the old days, just run his ass over right there.
