It's short n sweet. The only gnarly part was the part just like where Sid high centered. That's where I came down hard on something, because I was worried I'd high center so I didn't slow down enough lol

Deal. 2wd locked was fun. I impressed even myself. I fully expected not to make it to the end without turning on 4wd haha

So we were camped there at the flatlands. Middle earth is a good sized trail. I have pics from last weekend I haven't posted yet.

Scored this 18' aluminum canoe on the FB marketplace for $200. I believe it's a Grumman, but I'll have to do some more research when I have a chance. As with anything I buy it will need a little work before its lake ready. Good thing its November

Look on the starboard stern for a hull ID # (HIN). Pre-1984 Grumman used a format like 1538-g-5-1 which translates to 17 ft boat made of 0.05” Al and #1538 of batch G (1960). You should be able to find HIN decoder sites on the internet for newer or other manufacturers.

As much as I love canoes, I've been threatening to find a small v-hull jon boat I can slap a <5hp outboard on for a few years now. Should've picked up my dad's off him before he sold it but didn't have anywhere to put it. Just something to easily tow and get a line wet with.

I love our little Jon boat, still need to find a new outboard to put on it for one of the lakes that allows gas motors near by

Ouch. I was curious what it'd cost to replace my entire batt-to-alternator wire harness. Essentially, the fatboy (2awg?) the plugs into the output of the alt, combined with the 3- or 4-wire plug onto the back of the alt. Part number for my truck is 82122-0C090.

$750. Seeeeven hundred and fifty dollars. Holy shitballs. That's with the discount. Even with a 25% black friday sale, that'd be $565. Yikes.

See if Molex sells the connectors and just make your own harness. Can’t be that bad.

Oh, it's not that bad. But I really like plug and play, almost as much as I like OEM.

Changed the timing belt on my buddy's '00 LS400 this weekend. Super nice car, unbelievably clean on the underside. Crazy how similar a VVTi 1UZ is to a 2UZ.

It went well except for that I could not get the cooling system to bleed for the life of me. It only took half a gallon of coolant- and it would overheat nearly immediately. Turns out you have to open this port on the throttle body and fill the system from there. I've worked on more than half a dozen Toyota/Lexus UZs, and I've never known (or needed to know) what this port is. Anyone else know about this??

I went to the wrecking yard today in my quest for a replacement rear sliding window. There was one tundra there, a 2001 AC 4x4. There were 5th wheel rails mounted through the bed. It must have been some sight to have seen a 1st gen with a gooseneck in the bed!

I also had to take a pick underneath of the fuel tank strap. I also noticed the square aluminum tube that’s used for the 5th wheel rail reinforcement. Man, I absolutely LOVE going to the junk yard.

I’ve searched the Gen 1 forum trying to find a thread that shows the swap of a manual driver seat for an electric driver seat. I know it’s a thing, but all I can seem to find is talk, no examples or photos. I’m planning to head back to the salvage yard with my dad tomorrow to possibly pull the electric driver seat out of an 03 AC LTD to install in his 03 AC SR5. Can anyone point me to a thread where this was done? I know how to unbolt the seat, but I’d like to know what else we need to consider. Thanks!
