Hey everyone so I just bought this truck at the end of September and noticed that the LCA ball joints had some grease leaking from them about 2 weeks ago . I wiped it off and checked again today to see a decent amount of grease has some it again. Not sure if this is something worth looking into replacing or leaving it alone. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. IMG_5120.jpg IMG_5119.jpg

It looks like it got nicked, or someone used a grease needle to add grease, creating a hole in the boot. It won't last, so it will need to be replaced at some point soon.

That’s not an oem ball joint.

what makes you say that ? I didn’t notice any indicators that I wouldn’t be but also I don’t know what an OEM one would look like

damn I was hoping that wasn’t the case I know most of the time it’s easier just to replace the arm with the ball joint in it

I think you have to replace the entire arm

First off, it’s a 2019. It’s a 5 year old truck and every indication of the looks of that ball joint, from the metal to the perfectly clean, shiny and non faded rubber indicates it’s a brand new ball joint. Toyota does not sell the ball joints separately from the LCA. It comes as one assembly. So it’s not an oem ball joint.

yeah that makes sense ! I just jacked it up and took a better picture . It’s clear the grease is coming from the bottom of the boot IMG_5125.jpg
