To start, I absolutely love my truck, 2014 SR5 Crewmax 5.7 4x4 with 277,350 miles. I bought it new and put all but the original 13 miles on it. I have changed the drive belt once and battery once, and the right rear wheel speed sensor bearing and sensor once. Other than that, nothing has been done. In the past few months I have an issue that has progressed, at first it would only happen when I was turning, right only, left turns wouldn't trigger it, ( I thought my bearing had gone bad again ) but it has increased to a daily reoccurring issue now. When accelerating the traction control light will come on and if you let off the accelerator it will go off and resume normalcy. If it happens and you don't let off of the accelerator it will slow the vehicle down to about 30 mph at most, but if you floor the accelerator the engine will just rev up, and then if you let off it will correct itself. Lately just letting off the accelerator isn't correcting it, I now have to occasionally pump the accelerator a few times to correct the error and resume normalcy. The interesting thing is, the problem never happens if I have the cruise control engaged, only when using the accelerator. It was originally only doing it while above 30 mph, now it will do it under 10 mph too, additionally now the brakes are doing what I can only describe as an ABS purging when you apply the brakes, but the ABS never ever comes on. Sorry for the long post, just trying to share all I have on my issue. Hopefully someone on here can help me, and I apologize if this has already been discussed, I couldn't find anything. Thnx, KR

mmm. no replies? I have the same set of responses to traction control light coming on for no apparent cause. It will flash a few times, the truck will bog down like driving into soft sand, shift funny, loss of power etc. If I let of the gas, the traction control light will typically go out, and the truck will resume normal driving. I've also noticed that if I turn off the traction control (hold the traction control button down for 3 sec until anti-slip light and traction control "off" lights come on) it will still happened. Doesn't make sense to me ... if it's off, it shouldn't be tripped. Right? Dealership has changed transmission position sensor and mass airflow sensor to resolve and although this has helped (no more VSC and check engine and ABS lights) I still get the random traction control lights with power loss. ??? Dealership is out of ideas and told me to "live with it". Independent service tech thinks it's a wheel bearing bc speed sensors have tested ok, but one is reporting a lower wheel speed than the others.

Read through most of your post.. It almost sounds like the transmission is slipping. I would have issues with what appears was traction issues and the transmission doing weird shifty things before picking up and going... it was usually at speed above 30mph, then I realized I was locked out of 5th and 6th gear and wouldn't maintain speed even in cruise, I would notice it woukd start slipping making the transmission work harder. At some point it got worse and I pretty much lost 1st gear and I would have to do the double gas stomp before it took off. Best way I could describe it is turbo lag. When you start its slow af and once boost arrives boom you're off to the races.

I have a couple threads with these issues and codes. I would suggest you take it to autozone or o'reillys and get a full diagnostics run for free99. Not all OBD2s read transmission codes and if your dash goes full Christmas tree then there should be codes for something. I have a blue driver and recently picked up a veepeak, but for what I need it needs an additional $80 in-app purchase. Blue driver was $100... Take your pick.
