Only risk I see here is the unknown intoxication level of a ladder climber. That's safe AF and conveniently mobile

Wish I had a pic, this reminds me of when I lashed a 25’ extension ladder to the rack of my old s10 to get a little more height working in a tree.
    Totally safe.

Just fyi, if any of you 2X4 Access Cab owners are considering solid mounts, it has been verified that the V6 Tacoma trans mount from Solid Offroad does work for us as a direct fitment.

Solid now has an upgraded trans mount for the 4WD A340F though, so I'm interested in it and now the motor mounts. https://solid-offroad.com/shop/ols/...-gen-sequoia-47-v8-4wd-transmission-mount-kit

Do you have the motor mounts from Solid as well? Some buddies have had fitment issues so I've been hesitant.

    Noticed that little tidbit:

**You must have our motor mount kit installed to run this transmission mount. Running an upgraded transmission mount while still running OE rubber motor mounts may cause damage from the motor over flexing and the transmission being held tight.**

Yup, and vice versa is why I did not want to install motor mounts without an upgraded trans mount.

I do not, but I am already committed to them. The only person I remember having a slight issue, which he easily resolved, was @alb1k , I believe.

    Yes, this is the way.

And, while we're on this subject, I have a brand-new set of never-installed OEM mounts (motor & trans) that I'm willing to give to someone that truly has a need for them. Probably be early January before I have the Solid Offroad mounts installed and once I know I have no issues I'll gladly give the OEM ones away. Just hmu.

*Note: trans mount is for a 4x2.

He doesn't have his any more. I guess my feeling is, if I'm spending that kind of money I would expect the manufacturer to resolve the issue (even if it's easily millable yourself).

I seem to to recall he had them listed on the Marketplace here to sell, I don't remember if he ever sold them or not.

Either way, they're not on his truck anymore. We texted a bit about them at the time.

Lol. Why am I not surprised to see @des2mtn and @FrenchToasty at the top of the list?

I just finished speaking w/Lance at FreeLanceFab about my spindle order. Can any of you give me a good, sound reason, or two, to install gussets for a truck that's basically a highway truck 99% of the time?

Street find today while walking the dog just now. Someone left this sitting on top of a street drain cover on side of road, box is soaking wet, and it’s loaded with a full tube. Looks like it’s perfectly fine but someone air locked it. It’s cheap garbage I’m sure only $15-20 on scAmazon, and I’d never give it up for my bulletproof vintage guns. But free tool is free tool, so someone I know or meet that also like wrenching is gonna get it.

Not yet. The SPC's haven't been an issue and the truck is 100% rust-free. Why do you ask?

I understand. I hope you do, though. I know you liked it here a lot.

I've seen the top portion of several 1GT knuckles bent over. Typically from installing bullshit lift stuff, trying to reach 4-5" lift on Rough Country garbage, mixing pucks with lifted struts, that shit. But I've also seen a couple of west coast folks with bent upper knuckles just from huckin' that shit.
