I’m not sure how much it will drain the battery, I don’t use parking mode.

Is there a good 3rd gen install video.. ie taking down upper console to plug Sienna wire? I heard you can break the red clips and to have backups.

You should search YouTube for OEM Toyota dash cam install videos. Here is one: https://youtu.be/NOKswtbwxMI?si=eWf5mcyO3lcY8btD

Yes, great advice... I've watched three before the one you posted. Saw the one for Fitcam with a new Sequoia too.

I have removed the upper console several times and the clips still hold.
Here is a link for the red clips in case you want to order some extra. Someone else recommended them.

I just installed my fitcam with my sienna plug...2 issues when my truck turns on it knocks my connection off with the camera when my android auto kicks on and the camera loses power when I turn off the truck . So no parking mode . I didn't connect the y connector . What am I doing wrong? So I had to turn off bluetooth so it would connect while truck is on. OK damn thing made a liar out of me. I tapped the camera and the lights turned on. All good.

Thanks for the tip! I just installed my FITCAMX, with the 2” bracket. It’s a solid setup to not have the defroster line in video.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
I placed my rear camera by the license plate. You can run the wire up the frame rail and then go into the cab in a small grommet under the front passenger seat.

I am bringing back my truck to the dealer due to my camera views not working in my platinum. I wonder if I should disconnect the the fitcamx with the sienna adapter so they can't deny me and blame it for the causing the problem.

The dashcam is a dumb cam. The truck is not aware the dashcam is even in the truck. Just a dumbed-down piece of shit camera that they installed in a case they designed. They put absolutely no thought whatsoever into the camera or its features. Enough on that... :santa2: The adapter allows the truck to get an accessory power feed and an 24/7 power feed without running two cables up there.

I’ve been looking at dash cams for our 3rd gen. Just happened on this thread today and looked at the FitCamX website. Besides the fit and easy connect, why is this so good? No real features that other cams have. It loops the video every 3 mins? (is that because of the 64G drive. So 256G would loop every 12 mins?) it doesn’t have the Starvis2 sensor everyone says to get. How is its night vision without it? Thanks for any input & review.

I like the OEM look as it just blends in. When I say looks OEM, I mean how OEM should look, not how the actually OEM camera sticks out. The loop can be 1 or 3 minutes, which I believe was defaulted to 1 minute and lesser resolution. Doesn't matter what size SD car you have the loop duration will be the same. I changed it to higher resolution and 3 minute clips and bought a larger card to compensate for the larger storage needs. The only reason to run shorter clips or lower resolutions is smaller file size, so they don't take as long to save to the phone if needed and you can store more history on the card.

Looping every 3 minutes means all of the videos will be 3 minutes long. Most allow you to change that to other lengths. 3 minutes is a good recording size. It will record in 3 minute clips until the SD card fills up. Then it starts overwriting the oldest file. and so on and so on.

With a 64 gig sd card it may only keep a few days of video before it starts overwriting. With a 256gig you may be able to hold a few weeks of video before it starts overwriting.

As for the dashcam, I don't know why people are so gaga over the fitcam x. I bought a Tiger Cam from Amazon and it works fine. Great video.

Thx for the clarification on the 3 min files. I’ve not had a dashcam yet but small file sizes makes total sense.

Frustrating to me that there isn't a way to link all the built-in cameras to a storage element and use it as a dash cam

Like I said before, Toyota put absolutely no thought into their dashcam. They just slapped some shit together and put it case that looks like it fits in the vehicle aesthetically. They may get their crap together and properly use the cameras when they go to market for the Gen4 in 2035. Until then, they ain't going to do shit. It is a GD shame.

Went ahead and ordered the FitcamX And the “Sienna cable”. I’m very gun shy about installing this stuff myself but gave it a shot,
finished in 15 minutes. Easy to do, looks great, good quality.
    Thanks everyone!
