Do you have a photo? Because according to Fumoto:

Does my Fumoto valve stick out inside of my oil pan?
    It is unlikely that a Fumoto valve will stick out into your oil pan because;

    • Most oil pans have an internal thread holding structure inside the oil pan and most drain plugs have a shorter thread than the oil pan thread.
    • Fumoto valves usually have the thread that is about the same or even shorter than ones of regular oil drain plugs.
    • Therefore, it is unlikely that your Fumoto valve would be sticking out inside the oil pan. Your Fumoto valve would allow you to drain just as much oil as your original drain plug.

    Not sure at this point.
A nice crisp Hazy hits the spot. It’s an IPA with a fuller body. Less hops which a lot of people do not like.

    By chance, I do.

So, by a full thread if not more in the first photo, but more importantly, how much the drain is actually elevated over the stock drain recess on the bung. Again, I'll be doing a removal every so often to purge that extra bit, but the valve is so convenient that I'm not getting rid of it completely. I was surprised by how much oil was still in the pan when I dropped it (literally) everywhere when the last of the sealant let go.

Looks to me more like the threads on the bung stick up higher than the fumoto.

Perhaps you are right. Those are the photos I have and I remember being surprised at the time. I can tell you I was not pleased with the amount of oil remaining in the pan and the second photo leaves me understanding why. I'm not shitting on the valve, btw. I'm still using it.

EDIT: Apologies to all for apparently resurrecting this discussion. Hopefully the photos contribute to it. https://www.tundras.com/threads/fumoto-valve.129182/page-3

Hazy was my wife’s and I go to at our local brewery. But I always got a headache afterwards. Now I stick to super light beer, wine, and occasionally whiskey around a fire.

I'm betting that oil is left in the pan with the stock drain plug as well.

I doubt a bit of oil left in the drain pan matters much at all. There's old oil left throughout the engine. All of it - w/in the engine & in the drain pan - will recirculate and eventually be purged during subsequent oil changes. I say that w/ ignorance of knowing where the oil pump sucks up oil in relation to the pan.

you'd have to power wash the entire engine every time and go through with a toothbrush. Between a fluid change and the magnet on the bolt, people shouldn't be sweating it. This has been going on since cars existed. But on forums we like to over think o_O:thumbsup:

    You would be correct.

I recently changed my lower pan. There was easily a cup of used oil left in the pan.

Hence, I never worry about having the oil hot to ensure a complete drain anymore.

It's not all coming out, hot or cold.

True. How much more a 1/4" -3/8" of height leaves is what I don't know. Everyone can see the photos, they can make their own decisions. I remember seeing it all and it was an unexpected takeaway I had. For me, a nice hot oil drain with the valve removed every few oil changes is worth it. Does it matter? IDK. Is it required? IDK. Will it make ME feel better? Yup. Again, I'm still using the valve. lol

The tube and screen sit right where the round part is on the bottom of the pan. It does have a screen on the bottom for larger debris.

Yes I have a list that I want to do. This will be a slower build as just had baby #2 but have been scouring the forum for a while.
    Colormatched pro grill
    Colormatched front bumper caps
Upgraded suspension-Has 3 inch rough country spacer lift on it now but everything else is stock.
    Apple Carplay
    Camper Shell
    LED Headlights
    New Taillights
    Ditch Lights
    Upgraded fog lights as well
Different stepbars as well as these stick out to much, not sure yet which ones or none.
A bunch of the smaller interior mods that I have seen on here.
    Rear Seat storage.
