I love this type of construction! That’s awesome.

The cactus looks to be an old specimen.

That would make for some erotic holiday lights.

They are very slow growing and live for 100s of years. According to the interwebs, they start growing arms at 50-70 years. You can see it's getting it's first in the pic

Since it seems I'm incapable of cooking a nice juicy turkey, and don't really care for ham, decided to go rogue this year. Had the butcher cut me this glorious slab of Prime Rib. :hungry: Wish me luck I don't screw this up. :)

    People are so fucking inconsiderate.

Some kid in my daughter's preschool class was obviously sick on Thursday. Horrible cough and nose running like a faucet. His parents thought it was ok to let him go to school and the teachers didn't see fit to send him home.

By Saturday, our daughter had the cough. Today she has a fever and had to miss class. They were singing to a group of seniors, which she would have loved. 5 other kids also missed class today due to being sick.

They'll undoubtedly all be sick on Thursday too and miss hat day and the last practice before their Christmas concert on Sunday. I suspect some of them will miss the concert too.

The twins are now sick too. I hope we won't have to take them to the doctor like we did last time they got sick. With how long it typically takes us to get over illnesses, we'll most likely all be sick for Christmas too.

I'm supposed to go for surgery next week. They told me I'd have to reschedule that if I have flu-like symptoms up to 2 weeks before so I guess I'll get to live in pain for a couple more months.

    Fucking breeders.

Been researching the best way to cook my roast tomorrow, going with a way I never tried before, reverse searing. Granted I'm not as flexible as I used to be, but I'm pretty desperate at this point.

    I gotchu man...

This is a serious recommendation for you... I had to throw in that disclaimer since there's a bunch of shittalking and BS in here :D

My suggestion is this... Prime rib roast and ribeye steaks come from the same parts of the cow. So, turn your bone-in prime rib roast into several 3/4"-1" ribeye steaks by simply slicing the roast between the rib bones. This video should give you an idea of what I'm talking about...

    https://youtu.be/b_wSE97dcXM

Any steaks you want to save just vacuum seal and place them in the freezer for next time. This method of prep also allows you to enjoy a ribeye steak w/o paying ribeye steak pricing

For actual prep/cooking... Pan sear in cast iron (hot as you can get it); quick sear on each side and then finish them off in the oven (throw the whole cast iron pan in the oven) and cook to your desired temp; after removing the steaks, do a red wine reduction w/the drippings left behind in the cast iron pan... :hungry:
