My wife surprised me wit a new head unit so I could have car play (Kenwood). While messing with it, I discovered it tells me the pressure in each tire, however the tire position is not correct. Discount Tire said they cannot program Tundras (like other vehicles when they rotate). Has anyone ran across this? I do not know where it is getting the reading from as my model only has the tire light and not the pressure from the factory.

My Kenwood allows me to reset the tire position right from the headunit (DNX996XR with a Maestro module). Once you initiate the process, it will tell you to start deflating one of the tires (driver's front, if I remember correctly. The screen states which tire). Once the system detects which tire is losing pressure, the truck's horn will honk. Then you look at the head unit screen to see which tire that it wants you to go to next, and you repeat the process until you've gone through all of the tire positions. Then the tire positions should be mapped.

The tire pressures showing on the headunit should be passed from the OBD connection through a device like an iDatalink Maestro module.

Thank you!!!! I am not sure if I already have it as I was not privy to the installation, but it seem i may, I will try this weekend and see if it works. My 11 year son just shot his 4th deer this season so I’m tired and busy……

This worked perfect!! Thank you all for the help. Although while messing around with tire pressures, I found my spare to be flat, lowered it and it appears 11 years of rubbing may have worn a few holes in it.

Excellent!!! I am very glad that worked for you!
I rather like having that feature. It makes remapping the tire locations a quick process when rotating my tires.
