Tell me about it. I was out walking 9 miles in it over the course of my 12 hour shift last night. 45°F in Houston. WTF indeed

Welcome to my world. At least I’ve got a 4wd rental, a Hyundai Tucson.

Couldn’t drive away until the guy showed me how to start the vehicle, open the gas door, turn on the headlights and washer fluid and use the auto park retrieval (that was new to him).

High today in Milwaukee was 28°. Warm!

It got down to like 4° overnight a few days ago. With the wind coming off the lake, the windchill is frequently below 10° here. Going to be warm this week though- high of 37° tomorrow.

    Thank you!
I'll be around, Cant wait to jump back into the truck/camper projects.

It's a boutique hotel. The original building was built in 1926, and one of the oldest left in the downtown area. Pretty damn cool to add to that history.

Looks fantastic! You really are a master builder. I’m sort of surprised they didn’t go with an awning over the top to protect guests from sun/rain.

The most I've done in a 12 hour shift was 13 miles, but that was in like 60°F.
Typically I do between 5 and 10 at work.

    Thanks Jack.

It's really just an emergency egress that the bureaucrats deemed necessary when the hotel enclosed the second floor rooftop patio. The hotel didn't want the guests waking up to vagrants smoking crack on the patio, thus the arched cage detail.

Here's the weather while camping at the off road park last weekend. I need a space heater or a dog or a woman haha. I froze in my truck bed with hard top and 3 blankets. Slept in my clothes.

@455h0le_dachshund actually ran over a piece of these stairs. :rofl:In his defense I should have said something as it was dark and its kinda hazardous out here anyway.

Then a fuckin sparky (sorry, not sorry @bmf4069) did it right in front of me to the same piece at the job site. In broad daylight.

Pro tip: Don't assume someone won't run over a 50 sqft piece of steel.

Mine has been a game changer, we tried the Mrs buddy, but the dogs kept getting into it(I don’t sleep well camping as it is, throw the smell of burnt dog hair with a open flame in the tent……….)
My first year/day/night in big bear I had it rippin all night and slept in a banana hammock; everyone else went to town the next day for sleeping bags and more garments for me hahahah

Someone gave me the idea of buying a sleeping bag and tossing some hand warmers in there. I don't know what happened to all my sleeping bags. We used to have tons of em. Before the move about ten years ago

The hand warmers do last a while; but honestly I hate sleeping in a bag! I’ve got jimmy legs all night and need to regulate my body temp with my legs inside and out of coverage! I mainly wake up making sure my crotch fruit is warm and safe, and barely sleep the rest the of the morning but I won’t get up because it’s cold af and prolonging the morning poop

You need either an electric blanket or a thick insulated polyester cover like one of these I got at JCPenny 5-6 years ago (see below). I’m not sure if they still carry them but they're so worth it for cold nights. Keeps me warm when it drops to 45-50F when the pilot light sometimes blows out on my furnace. It should work with good blankets underneath down to freezing temps. Cost me $30 when it’s normally $60.
