Any feedback from the guys who went from an early third gen to a 2024 or 2025? I was always fed up with brake squeak, wind noise, and random creeks in my 2022 limited. Thinking about going to a 2025 1794, but wanted to hear from this group as I covet your opinions. Thanks in advance.

well i bought a 2025 Limited a couple weeks ago. I came out of a 2023 Tacoma. So i can't speak exactly to your question but i can tell you my new 25 doesn't suffer from any of the problems you've listed. It's perfect so far...and passed the pre-acceptance checks in that sticky thread.

I'm very much hoping for continued trouble free operations.

Had a 22 Limited with brake noise almost the entire time of ownership. TSB correction was performed just weeks ago. Tailgate noise when rear window opened and pana roof popping noise driving over bumps.

Now in a 25 pro and only experiencing pana roof noise over bumps so far.

I picked up my 25 Limited a couple weeks ago and spent a few days just discovering crap about it. I didn't even know it had a panoramic sunroof. It's one of those things (similar to many others) that is like wow that's pretty amazing when you first see it, but then after a week it's like who gives a crap, never using that and it's just going to be a source of trouble for god knows what benefit...and I even have young kids who might even appreciate the thing (for 2 minutes).. I also got a dash cam, didn't even realize it but glad to have it I guess. It does work. bed step, nice touch.

It's like an arms race with manufacturers. Do consumers drive this? I guess they must.

    Features I like and use:
    • The STOP button. I'm a shift it in P kind of guy at a long light. So this feature is appreciated.
    • 14" screen. Yea I like that, and wireless CarPlay. My 23 Tacoma was wired only and it was a pain.
    • Remote Start with the app. There's talk around here bashing it and going 3rd party. I'll gladly pay the connection fee for remote control through the app. Although it's stupid that it stops when you open a door.
Features I wouldn't pay extra for (but wound up with unbeknownst to me):
    • Panaramoic sunroof
    • Power rear window
    • Powered tailgate (although I'll admit I have been using it)

I’ve had a 22,23,24.And haven’t had any issues with any of them. The 22 platinum was gas and avs, I just didn’t like the set up. It road to soft for me. I liked the 23 pro but missed some of the luxury features of the platinum. I now a have a 24 1794 limited and it’s the best of both worlds

I’ve had all those issues in my 22. I had the same pano roof noise in my Benz back in the day. I think they’re just inherent to them.

I’m bummed I didn’t pull the trigger when the limited editions were around. But the price difference after negotiating for this standard 1794 is around $6k… so roll those into mods I guess!

Appreciate everyone’s input. I did an extensive test drive and was totally sold. The build quality is substantially better than 2022. It feels like my older Toyotas that inspire confidence. Also did a decibel meter test since road noise was an issue on the old one. Same road, same direction, same speed, about 20 minutes apart the old truck was around 80 and the 2025 was around 70. Very noticeable. As always thanks so much for your feedback.IMG_7491.jpg

My 24 Platinum doesn’t seem to have any of the problems found in the early models except for speaker rattle. Mine is on the passenger side but I know others have had it on the driver’s. Only 3700 on the clock, but so far it’s been solid.

Great Tundra… Enjoy in good health!
My 2025 limited 4x4 suffers from a very slight speaker rattle in the driver’s door but otherwise is rock solid.

    I upgraded from a 2022 SR5 with “TSS” to a 2024 SR5 with TRD, Premium and lift.
Other than the additional features I gained and like, I noticed a slight improvement in the interior quality and a lot better transmission and differential quality. The 2022 frequently made metal cracking noises when engaging to D or R
The one thing they haven’t fixed is the wind noise on the door seams. I read in another post someone bought a “missing” part that installs on the forward part of the front doors, but apparently didn’t make much difference.
I’m looking to add fog lights that are “deleted” with the lift, deleting chrome in the front grill surround which I don’t understand why they keep putting chrome in these trucks when nobody likes it.

Sucks about the wind noise not being resolved. That’s one of the primary (of MANY issues) that I traded my ‘22. I never expected a mouse quiet cabin in a truck, but the “wind noise” was ridiculous, especially when driving across Wyoming on 80 lol.

I did the opposite. I ordered a 2024 LC and was unimpressed with the noise and drivetrain. I declined delivery and waited for the GX550 I ordered. While it addressed my drivetrain concerns, it was just too tight and the 3rd row was a disaster. Also declined this order and ended up with a 2025 Tundra Limited and could not be happier.

I hope you enjoy the LC.

24 SR5 premium. Brakes squeak from time to time going in reverse. Usually on the first drive. Hardly any wind noise. Compared to my 02 and 15 Tacoma this is nothing.

Went from an early production 22 limited to a 25 pro. Wind noise seems improved, but was never a huge issue on mine. My center console lid seems much less creaky and wobbly.

I forgot to mention, I also had the infamous throttle lag but it seemed to have clear up on its own after about 2K miles. Not sure how, but I’m glad it did.

I went from a '23 SR5 built during early '23 to a '25 Limited just last week. The new truck is WAY better in terms of wind noise and random squeaks and rattles, and the Limited trim was what I probably would have bought last time, but I couldn't find one, and they were all at MSRP or higher.

My '23 was ONE week out of the engine recall timeframe, but I didn't want to take a chance with it, and it was time to upgrade anyway. Got $6k off the Limited, and it was the perfect color with all the options I wanted. AND it came with two keys!

I was surprised they handed me 2 keys when I bought the 2025. Heard all the stories of waiting months for the spare
