Had another cool Pack Out plan but inability to get the revnuts and tool I needed screwed that up, something will be getting borrowed next weekend from work. Spent a couple hours on cord management and adding a power strip.

Looks like too good of a deal to pass up. You may not get another chance. You'd be LOSING money if you don't buy it. Think about all the manly stuff you can do with those tools. They are red. Might as well buy them now - you're going to buy them at some point. Think about how much the ladies will.. well, never mind. Just do it. DO IT. DO IT NOW.

I had one similar I believe, maybe they’ve gotten better, but you almost needed a second layer over it to contain/direct the heat towards your body. If I were to get one again I’d get the heavier carhart style. But it did get toasty for sure, I mainly used it while working on walk in freezers for prolonged periods of time

The wife wants to paint our bathroom cabinets. That means we should sand them before paint. Milwaukee has a few sanders. I don’t see us using the sander for much more than than cabinet painting, and maybe small woodwork. Any suggestions?

I have the M18 sander, works good but gets heavy with a bigger battery and tends to tilt the weight towards that end. I would just get a corded harbor freight square sander.

That, or like me, I just picked up a used Bosch corded one from Marketplace, an older gentleman was cleaning his tools due to age so I snagged one for cheap, just used to sand logs (I know, for kids to sit on....)
For something that's very one-time-one-use job, I would say just get a used one.

I have the 5" M18 orbital sander. It's a good little palm sander with variable speed settings. I think you can even hook up that new vacuum you got to it with the correct fitting
It eats up batteries real fast though. Not sure if there is a m12 version but M18 would definitely be the way to go. Also I think I saw they are releasing a newer version.
    20241209_094519.jpg 20241209_094619.jpg

Edit: It does come with the piece to hook up to your vacuum but it doesn't connect on the vacuum hose very well so I think you'd need a different hose or another attachment to get a nice tight fit :monocle: otherwise just run it with the canister/filter it comes with.

Same one I have. Def a battery hog. I just use it for quick sanding...nothing hardcore. Was going through 8.0 HOs like nothing when sanding doors.

Tried using a battery sander like that once, granted it was P-C, but still. It would bog down with the slightest of pressure and ate batteries like they were M&M's. Took it back to Lowes and got a small corded DeWalt for about $10 more at the time and have never had an issue with it. It's actually the only black & yellow tool I have now.

I did the same with our old house kitchen cabinets and bought a cheap corded palm sander from harbor freight to do the job. It worked great. Not sure I would drop Milwaukee cordless kind of coin for a one time job......

I think this will be the one time I think getting cordless is not such a good idea.
But, each to its own. Hopefully your battery reserve is huge....

Hahahaha; fair enough. I actually can't afford milwaukee tools as I started out getting the Ryobi One+ as gifts from family when I first purchased a house.......I am always looking for the black friday deals and special sales. I got the 7 1/4" cordless miter saw this year for $149 with a 4amp/hr battery and charger. It was like half price and I use one quite a bit doing trim work, around the house type stuff. Doing it that way allows me to stockpile a ton of batteries.

Just show up at home with it and present it as a gift to her. "Wife, I present to you this ultimate orbital sander to make painting of the cabinets(that YOU wanted) a much easier task. P.S. If Milwaukee made a paint sprayer, I would get that for you too" :D
