Anyone reported engine issues with 2025 MY? Other than one guy on YouTube that saw a post on Facebook about another guy that was having an issue?

I ordered 2025 Platinum in Canada and it is scheduled to arrive in January

To quote an particular politician "people are saying" the tundra is junk and we are all going to die (half of that is absolutely true).

My new 2025 1795 TRD off road however, seems to be fine and is a joy to drive and own.

From watching the Threads and looking around the internet it's real sketchy on the 25s. Not a lot of noise at this point. I understand your concern. Best I can tell you is watch the threads and search around on the internet from time to time. Take everything with a grain of salt though.

Too early to report any issues. Don’t feed the superior 2.5 owners.

On the flip side, cruising the Toyota website today (looking at new 4R pricing/options) I see the Tundras have 2.99% for 72 mos. Best finance deal on the site except for the all electric doo-dad that was 0%/72.

I say use the negative news to your advantage and try to score a deal before the 25's prove to be fine. I'd think the major issues should be identified and resolved by now (at least on new units rolling out)?

I believe there is one lone engine failure that has been reported in a MY 25 Tundra thus far.

Time will tell when 25s get up there in miles. But there will never be a 0 failure rate. Just won’t happen. Truck could have failed for any reason and unless the poster followed up on what Toyota told him could be an unrelated issue. But given the recall on the early trucks and continue bearing failure past the date of recall the internet is going to grip onto it and make everything doom and gloom. Weigh the pros and cons and if you still want to buy one then go for it. Best advice is to steer clear of social media and drive. You’ll be a lot happier and have a lot less worry

I said this in another thread, but I traded my 2023 Tacoma Pro for a new 24 Limited Offroad Hybrid that I got a killer deal on and I love it. I was concerned a little, but felt comfortable getting one. I changed my oil at 650 miles this past weekend and cut my filter open and didn't see anything bad. If you watch the Car Care Nut, he does 1k change on his new Tundra and he had way more than I did in my filter.

You can see I've been a member on here for a while and I always wanted a Tundra and am glad I made the move. If it blows, it blows, but Toyota will take care of me I'm sure.

I saw that too, and everyone is latching onto the one report.

I don't think that was a verified bearing failure thing though from what I saw.

maybe not Ryan will clear that up for at some point

    Ahhh, another good wave!

Though I didn't spend enough time there to get it wired. Surfed it a little in 1980.

1600 mi on mine. Traded a 22 on it. Night and day difference. Same model different color. This one is solid! No squeaks, cracks, pops or rattles. My 22 model had very poor interior fit and finish, paint not what you would expect from Toyota either. No mechanical issues, it just didn't seem put together well. Traded at 21,000 mi. The 25 is tight. Quieter than previous one and engine and transmission are super smooth. May come apart tomorrow but right now I am very pleased with the new 2025. This should have been built from the start. Even my wife commented on how much smoother and how quiet it was on test drive.

    Any problems of late?
    I just purchased a 2025 CrewMax SR5 on Feb 28, 2025

First thing i noticed was the front hood fluttering while on the highway at 70mph.
Called the Dealer and said i was greatly upset about this and the cheap thin steel.
They said for me to bring it in.

Should I return the truck altogether?

Mine will shake if you get to close behind a big truck at high speed, other than that it's fine. Many other vehicles do the same. It's the price manufacturer's pay for lighter, higher mileage vehicles to meet government mileage standards. The days of being able to stand on your hood or sit on your roof are gone.
    All hail the EPA!!

Yesterday I drove this 25 Tundra to a RAM Dealership and compared it to the RAM 1500.

Night and Day difference between the thickness of the metal body in all areas, Hood, Sides, Bed, Tail Gate, Bumpers and the RAM suspension had a little more toughness to it = like a TRUCK should have.

These new Tundras from Toyota are not trucks but they are a glorified SUV with a square open plastic cargo area = Toyota stopped producing Tundras and now make a big suv.

Time for Tundra owners to raise their voices and tell Toyota to RETURN to producing a true 1/2 ton TRUCK.

Unless of course you are content with a glorified suv.

This is why you cannot find any low mile Pre-22 Tundras for sale.

The build quality on my 2025 is better than how my 2020 was. This new gen is hands down way better in every aspect than the previous gen. If you don’t like it go back to praising Stellantis / Fiat / Ram. Their quality is absolute garbage and their pricing is 1000 times worse!

100% AGREE with you on Pre-2021 Rams

    The build quality on my:
    1986 Nissan King Cab 4x4
    1990 Tacoma
    1995 Tacoma
    2013 Tundra
    2016 Tundra
2018 Tundra is hands down WAY BETTER in EVERY ASPECT then these tin can plastic 2025 wanna-be tundres !!!

New 2021 -25 RAMS have better build quality as can easily be examined when comparing side by side to these 22-25 suv tundres

RAM has greatly improved and are now on Top because Toyota made a serious error in judgment going cheap on steel and adding a lot of plastic.

lol , I’ve heard that greatly improved ram build quality statement forever. They are always “better now” , with those whom want to justify one

How is that different than Gen 3 Tundra fan boys, like you?

I've been as loyal to Toyota as anyone, but when I objectively compare my Gen 3 Tundra to the Ram, the Ram is a better build quality, IMO.

My wife is about as unbiased toward vehicles as anyone I know. When I traded my 2015 Tundra for my 2023, her first comment when she sat in it was, "It feels cheap compared to your old truck". Not exactly what I wanted to hear at the time, but if I'm honest with myself, she was correct..

good for you Matt, I was simply saying what we see with ram owners (I also owned one), over the long haul, “they are better now is” is very common saying for ram for over the last 30 years

not sure what that has to do with me (liking my tundra as I have with all 5) , I never said the tundra build quality is better or worse than now , nor have I spoke on reliability being better or worse.

they are about the same over the 5 I have had , that spans over 23 years of tundras

    Fair enough.

I'm only on my 3rd Tundra, 2008 and 2015 prior to my 2023. I still loved those trucks after 18 months of ownership. I can't say that about my Gen 3.

It’s really on the person buying the product to research the item they are buying.

If you are this unhappy and miserable this early on in the purchase I would seriously consider trading the Tundra in on a Ram and having a happier life.
