So I have a 2021 limited crew max in army green.
Love the truck, HATE the chrome. I’ve been searching far and wide for some door handle overlays and have tried several companies, all send a crappy overlay for the lock part of the door handle and it doesn’t fit, annyone else go through this? Any suggestions?

I bought a color matched set the week I bought my truck (or second week) and I hated that glare. Reminded me of polishing the chrome on my Harley... all the time... I hate chrome now.

I have never seen a cover/overlay set that looked good nor do I know if they are durable. I would be afraid it would come off on me while opening the door. Just my .02

I have a set of black front handles from double cab you can have for cheap. I bought a set of chrome handles and mirror caps from a forum member. I think I like chrome, works on my truck.

The 2020 and 2021 have the 1 touch lock/unlock sensors in the door handles so unless he's willing to give that up yours won't work for him.

I had a 2020 DC Sport and it didn't have sensors in the door handles.

I'm not sure if they have them on the double cabs, and it might only be on the higher trim level crewmax's

    edit:
It looks like double cabs can have the one touch entry.

I ran into the same problem with my 2020 Limited. The only color-matched handles I could find were $600+ if remember correctly. When I was having the PPF installed, they wrapped the handles for me. They've been on there for about three years. I think they turned out fine. The sensors all work fine and the chrome is covered up. Hope this helps.

I might have to go this route.
The painted to match ones from Sparks are like $515.

I would, paint them myself, I did, have them painted by a pro or wrap them. When I saw what Sparks and other dealers where asking, I was like, what crack are you on. An I don't even have the door handle unlock sensor and still crazy expensive.

You'd have to really hate chrome to pay that kind of $$$.

What kind of money? I painted my 2 front handles for around $40 dollars. I eventually sold the truck but switch them out with my dad handles which was the same color truck. They could use a re-spray but that was 9 years ago. And a Paint gut would probably charge $100 to do 2 handles. I didn't have chrome, I had the matte black but it was the same to me, so I painted them.

Anyone find a solution? I can't even find the 600 dollar handles. I might get it wrapped but an overlay would be easier.

Friendly tip, if you are responding to a specific person or post you should use the "Quote" button at the bottom of the post you are replying to, or you can tag users by putting the "@" symbol in and start typing their screen name, like below. Both of these methods should give notifications to the user and increase the chances they actually see your message.

Those are not inserts. When I had the PPF installed, they wrapped the chrome part of the door handles. I didn't want to spend $600 on the replacement handles. I have a Limited with keyless entry. I've had them on for approximately 4 years, and they're holding up fine. I would do it over again this way if that helps.
