Those are other precious metals to have. I just did a money dump in Montana for some .308/5.56.

Gold/silver are insurance policies. It's just that simple. Same reason you don't drive around in your (assumed) paid off Pro without auto insurance.

Think about this scenario with no STFB going on. Gold/silver trade in a world market. Think back to school when you learned how gold/silver was taken and revalued. I could see something like that happening again (just not the taking). If you revalued gold at 10,000.00 per ounce...just think what that would do for a minute and don't spew it out on here.

I do believe being well rounded with supplies like food/sin items/ammo is a good thing as well. Not everyone wants to trade or work for precious metals. People would need immediate consumables more often than not.

Like most, I at least try to stay well rounded. We would attempt to stay in our residential house for as long as possible. Let's be honest here...if someone wants you out of the home it is rather easy unless one builds a very purpose built home.

Precious metals has always been pretty darn dependable. :) Gold and silver is a good investment.

You might be surprised at some of the collections that some citizens have. I've been humbled several times by people that you would never guess has that kind of wealth.

Think of it this way, I can carry 270k dollars in gold on me and still be lighter than my M4. :fistbump:Probably should carry both. :D

I have not yet bought it but have been thinking about a pallet of concertina wire. I could probably deploy it around the property in a couple days. We’re miles away from the city and surrounded by mostly self sufficient folks. Under my circumstances I expect I could defend the place fairly well against the most probable antagonist (expect a hand full of crack heads).

I will definitely take the idea of investing in precious metals under advisement

Now I definitely think the razor wire would be a waste of money unless you can monitor it 24/7. This kind of wire is only effective under pressure and fear and hopefully gets tangled up in it. Then you have wildlife. What a mess.

I read on a board not long ago that metal thieves were stealing it. Not too effective in my book.

Back to precious metals. I think you should at least have some silver more over gold. Easier to barter with due to the net worth of it vs gold.

I would love to come check out your property. Wouldn't happen to be around Sweet Home? Might be checking out something up there this spring. Maybe get one of those famous high quality Ray knifes I see and hear about.

Found a new place to buy silver. 1.4? Up to 1.54 over spot. Per roll price, and they ship quickly too. Liberty Coin

I'm up to 125 ounces of silver now. I buy nothing smaller than 5 ounces now. Mostly 10 ounce bars which don't break the bank. Red River Mint in TX is producing nifty kilogram bars now. I'm still buying Goldbacks. Florida just came on board with its own Goldback.

Also, if you're gonna invest in gold or silver, buy it in real form not electronic crap and store it in your safe

That's pretty good Matt. I think all Americans should have 5-10 oz gold and 200-300 oz of silver.

How many states are using goldbacks now?

I received an email from PineHurst Coins earlier, they have a sale going on. I did a check/wire transfer and paid 0.33 cents over spot on one ounce rounds. Hope they do this again!!! :)
PineHurst Coin usually has sales pretty often but I don't remember when I could get away paying 0.33 cents over spot.
