I push the weight limits quite often in this truck so I have the timbren and the upgraded 400lb spring from Dobinsons in the back. Handles the weight much better with this combo.

here is a 1000lb pallet in the back

Anyone have any experience towing 5k plus pounds on 35s or 37s? Curious how the truck handles the weight with the bigger tires

I got to answer my own question today... sort of. The truck is on 285/75R17 Wildpeak AT4Ws (little shy of a 34x11.5) and I had to tow my tractor to get some work done. Roughly 8k pounds all loaded up between the trailer and tractor and the truck did awesome. Certainly no lack of power and the truck tracks and brakes very well. I didn't have access to my WDH today so there was a decent amount of squat but overall very pleased.

Still curious if anyone has towed heavier trailers/campers with 37s

We just upgraded from a 27’ to 30’ 2025 Airstream Globetrotter. Pulls with ease and the bags work well.

I see so many trucks pulling things with the hitch and the front of the trailer pointed down. Dangerous AF.

@jnasty you should see some of the janky trailers I see for boats. I wouldn’t trust most of them to hold their own weight much less be towed anywhere. Also, I'm not normally a fan of red but, man that truck looks sharp.

I have owned this car since 2000. It is a one year only model of the Buick Skylark. The roof is factory original, done by ASC (American Sunroof Corporation). Now known as ASC/McLaren. The SunCoupe model was a Skylark option. There are a few (like around 15 or so) known GS’s that were purchased as a SCO (special car order) that were sent to ASC to have the roof modified post production and pre-delivery with this option. Mine was not one of these cars. I don’t try to fool anyone, as I made my car into a GS Stage1. Everything matches as if it were a true GS. Body and frame stiffeners were added from performance packages available in 1972. I drag race the car occasionally in a stock appearing class. I run a Rochester quadrajet under the air cleaner and out through factory exhaust manifolds also. My quickest time has been a 12.40 flat. I have pulled the drivers tire off the ground on launches with street drag radials!

    Thanks for asking. Mike

I bet. I didn’t really like the color when we bought it. I had a ‘21 Pro Lunar Rock. I get so many comments on the Solar Octane.

Towed this today 600 miles, speed limit plus ;) only knew it was back there because I could see it. MPG was between 12.5 and 14. Auto leveling worked great!

    Im figuring about 6500 lbs.IMG_1860.jpg

Haul concrete from my back yard. 3 ton at a time plus the weight of the trailer. Pulled with no problem.

Very nice! My dad just sold his 1970 GSX Stage 1 two summers ago that he bought in 1990 when I was three years old. Was a bittersweet day (pic is from the day he sold it), but now he's putting his energy into finishing his 69 Skylark convertible. That's also being turned into a GS clone like you did with your Skylark.
