Secret Santa Recipients Assigned and Distributed!!!

Ok Secret Santas, you are now officially deployed!!! Every Secret Santa should have received a PM from me w/your recipient's information. Phone #s were included for your use ONLY in the event that a shipper requires it to be entered for shipping purposes. Yes, Santa does have some additional information on your recipients (such as email address), etc. and is more than happy to help you navigate logistics along the way if necessary. However, Santa is NOT here to do the work for you... Part of the fun of this event should be researching your recipient's interests, needs, and wants a bit; and I'm not talking about doing weird stalker shit on the internet late at night...

Sure, everyone is supposed to do a Wish List post (hint, hint... this will be the starting point of your research )

However, don't just stop there... Most of the folks participating in this event have a fairly extensive presence here on the forum, and you can learn a lot about your recipient just by perusing their posts and reading through some of their conversations. Sorry, Santa can no longer do any wire taps for you... the Feds are already breathing down my neck over some nafarious activity from last year!!

But, what I can do for you, as a last resort, is offer to be a liason if you find yourself in a pinch and need to ask a question or communicate w/your recipient in some way. Please try to avoid reaching out directly, as it kinda spoils the fun a bit... Also, don't skip all the other steps and just come straight to me for info, or you'll end up on next years naughty list.

If you DID NOT receive a PM w/your recipients info, please PM me immediately so I can figure out which elf is going to spending Christmas in El Paso

Finally, please don't wait until the last minute to get your gifts out. The 'deadline' is for everyone to have their gifts by December 20th. However, there is nothing wrong with sending gift early, and once you receive a gift you should be going to the 'Secret Santa 2024: What Did You Receive' thread and post up pics and such of what you received from your Secret Santa fairly soon after the gift arrives. We do this for a couple of reasons... First, it lets your Secret Santa know that you physically received your gift, and it wasn't swiped by some crazed porch pirate. Secondly, we all get motivated and excited about seeing what everyone got, and it gives you a chance to brag on why you think your Secret Santa is the best

I just wanted to check in w/everyone, give a quick update, and make sure everyone's on track...

... and I know we've got a couple of recipients that (based on tracking info) should have received their gifts but haven't post yet. I know it's a busy time of the year for all of us, but please try to acknowledge receipt and post up in the above thread as soon as reasonably possible so your Secret Santa knows you have possession of your gift and it didn't fall victim to a Porch Pirate

Other than that, we seem to be doing well with only a couple of minor mishaps that have been resolved
With that being said 2 of you will be responsible for 2 new add-ons in the rules/CofC/suggestions portion of this event... Congratulations!!!!!

Regarding timelines, we are just under 2 weeks out from our target date of everyone receiving their gifts by December 20th...

So, if you have anything left to ship out please get that done sooner than later. Also, if you find along the way that your gift is going to be delayed (especially if it's going to land after the 20th), please feel free to reach out to me via PM so I can liason w/your recipient so they don't think you forgot them!!!

*** Santa's Update ***​

Well Santas, just a few days to go before the magical day arrives. So, I wanted to share a quick update w/everyone...

So far, all but 4 participants have received gifts from their Secret Santas. Three of those four gifts are already showing delivered, and we are just waiting to hear from those recipients. With that being said, I've been in contact w/those folks, and they are either out of town or simply not as active as some here on the forum... Either way, I expect we'll have updates from them within the next few days
The fourth gift seems to have fallen victim to a shipping SNAFU...

(and no, we're not referring to @kparrow 's Amazon Wishlist Oversight)

It appears that fourth gift was sent, returned to its sender, and is now being re-sent via expedited shipping


Anyhow, all parties involved in the above 'circumstances' have been PM'd directly and are aware of the delays/issues, and we will hopefully have updates from each of them in the coming days...

In the meantime, enjoy your holidays everyone and don't forget that it only takes a moment of your day to make someone's day a little brighter

 

Santa Update 2.0

So with @kparrow finally deciding to open his gifts , we are now down to only a single recipient that we are waiting to hear from. Tracking is showing that gift should be arriving next week (Thursdayish), and again these delays are of no fault of the Secret Santa but rather some mail carrier snafus and such

With that being said, I plan to close this thread down on January 4th and return to my annual hibernation at the North Pole. In the meantime if there is anything I have missed or any missing gifts, etc. please feel free to either post your concerns here or shoot me a PM within the next few days so we can get them sorted out...

I'm not sure about the rest of you fools, but Santa is tired and will be spending a considerable amount of time in the Clubhouse this next week
