Sounds like he's making his own whipple with spare parts, 26 week lead time is bonkers.

Ordered through XAT, which just drop ships from Whipple, at a time when Whipple had lead times at 8 weeks. Back in November the latest update was Whipple is still waiting on housings that wont be ready until February.

Hey @Mdl you're running Motive F/B gears with SM lsd correct?

I'm installing my front gears this weekend. I had some stuff come up that prevented me doing the front with the rear. Rears are all set and done with break in process. The Speedmaster lsd has exceeded my expectations.

The preload really helps. My only advice is when giving it throttle test it out before going all out. It engages quickly when it senses slip. Much quicker than my Auburn before
I burned it out. I've only been in one other tundra with powertrax. I'd say you can't go wrong with either one. Now the longevity test...

Ya it is. I emailed them today to ask about lead time. They said current lead time is 14-16 weeks after the Black Friday sale. That’s still crazy - hopefully cuz they’re selling like hotcakes.

They are smart because they know there will be fewer and fewer 5.7 SC sales as the years roll by.

Or there will be an uptick in 5.7 blower sales as people try to increase the power of their trucks without buying the newer smaller motor with potential issues. It will of course plateau, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is an increase of sales at some point as owners decide to spend the money on increased power vs a new truck. Likely in the years to come when newish 5.7 owners have paid off their trucks and time has gone by and a new vehicle doesn't make sense but 8k on a blower all of a sudden sounds very appealing.

I’ve noticed an uptick in interest lately for sure. I was one of those people when I heard the V8 was going away. I didn’t have to know much about the new truck, I just knew I always wanted a blown 5.7! I sold my 2010 and bought a low mileage 2.5 gen with the intention of boosting.

    Same.

As soon as found out no more v8, I started hunting for a 2.5 gen even though my '08 5.7 with 250k miles is showing no signs of adverse wear.

Picked up a '21 nightshade with 13k miles on it last year.

It sits in the garage. I've only driven it 1 mile since I got it 15 months ago. It's getting a SCer next year. It's my retirement gift to myself.

Guess I'll hold on to the flex although (I'm regretting saying this) after a zillion flashes on 10+ ECUs, I've never had that problem, maybe blowing motors is the cure for that :p

2007 and 2008 had some anomalies with drive and S mode where it gets stuck in 3rd when nannies are off and a few others. I did brick my ecu but was able to recover it and sent it back for refund. @snivilous and I share alot of the same issues. The most annoying and dangerous is the transfer case fork disengaging. Where ya gotta role the truck in neutral to get it back in.
Anyways, thought I'd try one from the last month of 2007 as mine was an early production from 2007. Just to see if its an ecu thing

Oh and also in case of an emp strike..

I picked up a 2008 ECU a few months ago with the intent to try and figure out how to swap it into my GX460, plus doubles as a redundancy for the Tundra.

I noticed that sometimes others will create a brand new tune from scratch when parameters won't respond within the re-written tune. Say your adjusting PE but it still won't Enrich to a lower level. One will just create a whole new tune.
I noticed I was having longer extended starts and my cold startup wasn't adding rpm. I re-wrote the tune and it now has fewer extended starts and my air adder and start rpm are enabled. Just some weird stuff...@snivilous did it awhile ago when my timing and enrichment weren't responding. So I tried it again and it solved my issues

I'm not surprised by this. I think we would be naive to assume the re-write via HPT can really erase 100% of everything before re-writing the new calibrations. At some point you're likely to have some weird nuances due to a stack effect of calibrations over and over and over. Glad you were able to cure your issue!

Edit - my ECU needed a reflash back to OEM before re writing the latest calibration in order to cure some strange transmission behaviors once it had the built trans.

I was thinking the same and in the past saw @snivilous and @Wynnded say I'll just start with a whole new tune. And like you had too.
