thanks guys. People have had good luck with these rads from rock auto? I’ve gotten a few things from them that the packages have been through the wringer and didn’t want to worry about having to send back a damaged part. Especially something as delicate and with the surface area as a radiator.

I purchased my Denso Rad from RA Dec of 2023. One of the trans line inlets was slightly bent, but just slightly. The surface of the rad was perfectly fine. Not that it means they will pay attention, but the box IS marked fragile.

A full sized american truck with an 8' long bed can just barely carry a full cord...IF the wood is meticulously stacked to be precariously well over the top of the height of the cab.... Then that would be close to a full cord. Count on loosing many rounds on the highway on the way home too. Pretty much the only way to fit 1 cord of wood in a full sized 8' bed is with side boards installed on the bed rails.

I've been wanting to finally install one of the sets of blacked out headlights/corners I got from Beau and Ryan recently. I've already modified them and installed the CoLight mini projector LEDs. But I've only got one day off per week all month and last week it was 40°F and raining. This week it's supposed to be cold and raining. Damnit... I put this off for too long. I got to see first hand how bright the CoLights are on Frank's truck and Josh's truck. They definitely looked good to me, from in front and the passenger seat.

I stand corrected, now it's showing no rain Thursday. The problem with Texas weather is its unpredictable and can change minute by minute. That especially applies to the coast.

I’ve purchased two radiators from RockAuto, and both times they came very slightly damaged. Never had any issue with the core/fins and both have worked fine for years.

I mean it's up to you. They aren't too expensive. I'm not impressed with the light output on the halogens on my 03. Especially after one of the expensive silver stars burned out and I replaced it with a cheapo I had laying around the garage. Doesn't help my OEM headlights were a little rough.

Built this cabinet specifically for all of my drafting/modeling supplies. I salvaged an old well-built cabinet to make the box and the drawers are all 1/2” ply that I had laying around.

I’m an architecture student and I use hundreds of pens, knives, pencils, rulers, glues, you name it. I needed something that could keep my stuff organized and would fit in my small studio space, but also be strong and work well for the next 5 years.

The box is really nice 3/4” Birch plywood. It’s really sturdy. It’s got full extension drawer slides and strong casters on the bottom so it can be moved. I might paint it- but I’m kinda liking the bare plywood look. To quote Tom Sachs: “steel is the king of all building materials. Plywood is the queen.”

Made something similar, but larger for my drill press 8 or 10 years ago. You can see it at the far right in this picture. It’s one of the most useful things I’ve ever made. I’m a big fan of personalized items made for utility. Explains the first gen purchase too…IMG_1854.jpg

For the price- which is around $60, they’re awesome. Instead of a LED bulb inside a halogen housing, which requires the beam of light to be reflected multiple times, the projectors use a lens to amplify the beam and provide a very sharp cutoff while retaining crazy brightness and power.

    IMG_1256.jpg
    IMG_7381.jpg
    IMG_7350.jpg

What’s really nice about these is that you get very good performance with minimal modification to your headlight housings, and a stock look. A full size projector retrofit will provide better results but will cost like four times as much (I think).

Exactly! My dad used to own/operate a custom furniture business. We had a whole woodshop with planer/jointer/table saw/bandsaw/etc. The whole nine.

We built so many custom cabinets- for hardware, tools, parts, you name it. Built exactly to fit our needs. You could work SO efficiently in that space. Nothing beats a custom plywood cabinet.

I wish I had a photo of the woodshop- my dad went back to his previous job so he closed up shop.

What brand bellows do y'all recommend for tie rods, besides the obvious OEM?
Or do any of y'all reuse your bellows when changing inner tie rods?

If the OE is still serviceable, run it. I bought a Detroit axle one for the drivers side since mine was fuckered, but my passenger is still stock. I tried a Rockauto special there first when I redid my front end years ago and it fell apart over the last 5-6 years.

If they are in okay condition with no holes I wouldn't hesitate to reuse them. I planned on using Moog, but ended up with going oem as the sale price isn't that bad.

Yeah I did some custom woodwork for a couple years part time. Had all the tools and loved it. But I knew it was gonna be very tough to support a family that way, so I ended up selling a lot and getting a more stable job. I do smaller stuff now like chairs/stools when I have time. Next to the best gen, my woodworking tools are some of the only other material possessions that I really love. I have a 1940's Delta lathe that I refurbished and a 1968 powermatic bandsaw that is just wicked cool.

Good watch. Close friend just had to replace the D1S bulbs in her Bimmer. Helped her out by spending my Speedperks bucks to get her halogens because her VIN said that’s what it took. Apparently you can’t rely on the VIN as stores and major light brands suggested.

Needless to say we almost bought the DMEX bulbs in that video. Ended up going with OSRAM, I believe. It’s what the local P-car/Bimmer shop recommended for bang vs. buck. I didn’t install. Too much hassle, gotta jack the car, remove the wheel, remove the fender liner, then start tearing open the light bulb housing. This is exactly the type of crap I can’t stand about BMWs.

I believe Toyota part numbers with an 'AZ' in them are actually budget/economy versions and not the same as the original OEM spec. I guess it's to meet the need for cheaper parts for these older vehicles? I'd spring the extra for the Denso.

The fire didn’t reach our block. The evac got lifted 2 days ago. We went back last night to clean all the ash that made it into the house and start tackling the smoke smell. The water is still unsafe to anything with so won’t be going back till the end of the week. We have been staying with my parents and that has been a blessing.

While driving around yesterday, it looks like something out of a movie. So much disaster and people living at other cars. So many armed troops on ever corner
