Borrowing one of my coworkers’ Shining3D Einstar. It wasn’t the best at picking up black plastic so I had to put a bunch of baby powder on the pieces that I was scanning. upload_2025-1-19_14-44-30.jpg
    upload_2025-1-19_14-44-51.jpg
I cleaned the baby powder off this piece of trim before taking the pic, but it did a pretty good job! Gonna use this piece of trim to make a flush mount for my auxbeam. I’ll post an update and .3mf files once I process the scans and design some parts. Also took a scan of the front cup holders on my mom’s 3rd gen limited sequoia that has the vertical cup holders/lil cover - I believe that’s on the higher trims of the tundra.

Despite it being bitterly cold in Kentucky, I’ve been dying to wire up the marker lights in my grille. I did the heritage grille swap with the factory TRD marker lights a few weeks ago but didn’t wire the lights up because they didn’t have a wire harness with them. After reading, I decided to knock it out really fast and I’m pumped!

Installed the Yota Xpedition Pro Grille with topo letters as well as their vent lights. Light bar switch was on backorder, so I still have to wire that up once it comes in.

Quick mockup to test if the scan was scaled properly, and it was! eyeballed the orientation so it’s a lil tilted but I kinda like it

I bought another switch and black plastic fairing for it, I did it to make it easier. Wish I could do what the 25's had for the tail gate to raise without manually doing it.

which are you trying to do ? I have scanned and created STL's for almost everything in the front of the truck. ( just finished a custom camera mount for rear window (trucks with the slider window)

Would enjoy seeing what your doing as well....

Nice! Was mostly trying to get a scan of the trim to the left of the steering wheel to make a flush mount for my auxbeam switch. Also wanted to get some of the cupholder geometry to design my own cupgrip-adjacent thingy. Was going to take off the front bumper to scan mounting points on the frame just in case I wanted to make my own front bumper but I think I’ll end up buying this one when I have some extra cash: https://outgearsolutions.com/products/2022-toyota-tundra-prelander
I’m going to add to my 3d printing thread with my files once I get some time to process the scans and design some parts. Would love to know what you’ve scanned and what you’re doing with those scans!

3d print folks - how about printing a hard frame for the cabin filter that would allow use of generic hvac filter material?

This is awesome that you’ve gotten a lot of STL files. I’ve been looking at trying to recreate the top center dash tray piece that has the cigarette lighter outlet. Do you happen to have a file on that one?

are you looking for a "cover for it" or the actual stl of the tray itself ?

I have a 2023 SR5 Tundra , so if its the same, then I can covert it this afternoon. I went alittle crazy on scanning everything I could when I took my dash apart to put some simple mods on/in.
I started to create some custom items and listed them for sell, but I also like to share the files with the group.

Had 1 person already take a file and try selling it.. (which sucks) but ohh well...

I was wanting to get the tray itself. I'm trying to make mine into a wireless charger for my phone up in that area. I tried scanning it with an app on my phone and drawing from it in SolidWorks but didn't turn out like I wanted. That piece is surprisingly more difficult to model than I thought. I'm not looking to sell it, just wanted something to go by so I can draw something up and 3D print my own custom tray there that would have my integrated wireless charger for my phone. The trays should be the same for all of our third gens. Any help would be great!

This might be irrelevant if you popped that tray out to scan it / already thought of this but: What you could do is pop the tray out, mark and drill some holes for an adapter plate and then print whatever customizations you want to do and mount it to that plate. I wouldn’t drill into that tray while it’s mounted to the dash bc there is some wiring / the head unit behind it. Double sticky tape sticks really well to those plastic trim pieces, so that honestly might work too. Love the idea of a plug n play tray replacement but designing the drafts / mounting locations to the rest of the dash seems like a pain.

That's a good idea. I have popped it out a couple times to check what's below and you're right - definitely don't want to drill into it while it's mounted. I started up trying to recreate the drafts and all but you're right it's been a pain so far. I'm still making tweaks and printing examples for myself. At some point, I think I'll get it then can hopefully share that with others here. I've already purchased a wireless charger body that would go with my setup as well as a way to plug it into the connector that the cigarette lighter plug was connected to so that there is not splicing into factory wires. Just need to get the tray piece correct!

How long was your wait on the Blaze gear? I have their Garmin mount, rear bed power, ditch light harness and SDHQ terminals on order. Going on week 9 of 6-8 week wait. I know they are slammed and not complaining, just curious.

That sounds like a long weekend of installing. You are gonna hate having that compressor inside your cab they are so loud. I hated listening to mine in the engine bay of my tacoma.
