Me again. Need help locating where the SD micro chip for the maps is located. I've searched, I don't think it's behind the MAP push button.

I would have saw that, (pretty sure) my buttons are different on the 2020. My 'seek' and 'track' arrows point right or left, not up or down like the clip. Some link I went to mentioned a glove compartment location.

Doesn't the 2020 use Android Auto or Carplay for navigation?

Stopped raining enough for me to get some photos. This is what I've got. As for Android and Carplay...maybe. 20250131_103053.jpg 20250131_103111.jpg

It appears your head unit does not have navigation? Are you able to use navigation already and are just looking to update the maps?

Not sure that’s an error. It doesn’t say you’re missing a chip. It says you don’t have that feature installed. Not sure that adding a map chip fixes that. Plus, I believe the 2020 updates via USB, not SD card.

Not sure why anone would want to use the native app. Never seen a native navigation map on any vehicle that was worth a damn. No alerts and you have to continually manually update it. Fuck that.

I plug my Android in, or my wife plugs her iPhone in, and that's that.

When is the last time you hooked up your phone with the Toyota app? (it used to be a standalone Entune app on my 2018 but I think they nuked that and bundled it with the main app..) From what I could find online when searching for a replacement map card for a 2020/2021, there isn't one, just this part number TOYA0-17CY2-1F (Dynamic Navigation Renewals). Try checking for software updates, either through the HU or here: https://www.toyota.com/firmware-updates/download

Your system doesn't use an installed map and trust me you don't want it to. I have a 2019 with navigation and never use it, it's awful. Your system uses your phone with Google maps installed to use navigation, if you plug your phone in and activate android auto or Apple car play on your phone, then I'm willing to bet when you press the map button it will open google maps.

Got MAP working. Thanks everybody for the tips and hints. Seems 2020 was a transitional year. After the 'chip' navigation but before wireless to a phone. Connected a 'charging' cord to the far left USB port under the heater controls The truck recognized the phone. After a quick app download that the system suggested I use, I was up and running WAZE. :) Now on to my next question....
