My father has a piece of mining belt bolted to the bottom of his snow plow blade. I'll have to measure it to give you guys a thickness. Mining belt is very strong but flexible rubber with threaded mesh inside.

That’s a REALLY nice looking 2240! I would love dearly to have a 145 front end loader for our tractor. Our 2240 used to have the canopy cover on the ROPS bar, but my dad caught a low hanging tree limb with it and it tore it to pieces. I recently had all four of the wheels powdercoated yellow and then we got new tires mounted. The tractor was waaaay more functional with new tires. The previous rear tires were the original ones from 1981 and they were literally rotting apart. The two pairs of Grote LED lights that i installed both front and rear sure helps for working well after dark.

At one point we had close to 1800 peach trees. We kept our tree well pruned, so having a side exhaust wouldn’t have made a difference. But with the more overgrown stuff…yeah, having a side exhaust would help big time! There’s been plenty of times that i’ve been concerned that i’ll tear the whole muffler out of the hood of the tractor.

My Dad brought this home the other day. They've got a private road and finally decided to stop paying other people to maintain it. Once we figured out where the 4wd lever was it moves snow pretty well :rofl:the controls mostly being labeled in Japanese makes it a little interesting.

    Got the mining belt info.

Dad's blade may have had holes across the bottom or dad drilled them, don't know. Anyway, he put on a piece of 1/2 inch think mining belt and bolted it onto the blade so that it sticks out a bit and is what actually contacts the pavement. It's just bolted on with a piece of flat stock across it, so sandwiched between that metal piece and the blade.

Works very well. Saw a lot of use earlier this month! It even made some money in the neighborhood. ;)

I think after this last snow storm...time to do something as a front pusher instead of doing this in reverse. It works well, it just tweaks the neck and back doing it for hours.

See what I come up with.

I love how you can push and stack piles high if you need to. Added bonus compared to a typical front or rear plow.

Not sure about the LP pushers but some of them you can flip the bucket with the 2nd function to get nice and close and back drag.

I can't see reverse pushing snow at all.

Yes, get a snowplow and the controls / hydraulics needed to articulate the blade side-to-side.

When we moved to our ranch I purchased a brand new Kubota 2022 "L3902" with attachments. Kubota dealer is close and I had a Kubota before and was happy with it. The new one is excellent, has a bit over 300 hours. We have 50 acres, wanted bigger a few times but once the property is straightened out the tractor size will be perfect. Have mower, bucket, grapple (favorite implement), wood chipper, land plane and a bucket.

So turns out I should have looked at the janky wiring sooner. My brother was running it and by the time he parked it and grabbed the extinguisher it was too late. Homeowners is covering it so I think we're upgrading to a Mahindra 1526. RIP little Yanmar.

Everyone is safe so that's the important thing

You bring up a great point....having a fire extinguisher on the tractor. Sorry for the loss and glad nobody was hurt or land scorched. Things can be replaced.

A couple years back, I remember there being a string of videos of jeeps/trucks burning up on the trail. I've had accessible extinguishers in all my trucks since.

Now I guess I've gotta look into putting one on the tractor...:eek2:

On a more positive note, got some seat time on dad's Ford 3000 yesterday. The more I operate that little tractor, the more I fall in love with it. We hauled it down to a friends house to load scrap. The county is hitting him for code violations due to the amount of junk he's acquired over 40 years on his land. In the last two days I've halled 3 3000lb loads of scrap off, and I think there's at least one more.

Absolutely. Just like most, my tractor is maintained well and insured. However, if my house burnt down along with the tractor...no Bueno.

I believe I'd be SOL if mine caught fire, but it's also a lot older and cheaper than what you guys are running. And honestly, because of the sentimental value, I'd probably try and fix it if it burned. Here's me right after my grandfather bought it, and how it sits now. About 30 years between these two photos.

    Food for thought...

My cousin is a fire fighter and prepared as one. He has an Excursion. He was towing and it caught fire. He pulled over and got his family out. Then he put out the flames.

Insurance wouldnt pay because it wasnt totaled.

He asked why and they said because he put the fire out.

That is all I will say on that topic, just food for thought.

The insurance didn't cover the repair? Or didn't total it?
