I’ve got a 2025 Tundra SR5 with the Off-Road package. I don’t like the remote start shutting down when you unlock the door/open the door. Has anyone had any success bypassing that one way or the other to keep the engine running on a remote start demand?

So you link to a thread that told somebody else to search and the only helpful link is to the search thats not answering the question? sheesh.

OP, from what searching I did, it doesn't sound like there is a fix. It is what it is.

I'll admit to being a bit lazy and I suppose I could have just said "no". However, my point was to show OP this has been asked many times with the same answer from multiple sources instead of trusting one random person on the internet.

Ya know, for folks to seem to be so quasi-irritated that someone asks a question that's already been asked or answered, they sure do make it a point to spend time replying "do a search". Couldn't you just answer the question? A post is a post.

I discovered a very successful solution by trading my Tundra for a Land Cruiser.

People need to be able to help themselves. We have google, facebook, Amazon, etc. Spoon feeding a newb is the worst thing we can do to a forum. Learn how to search, share your experiences and help build the knowledge base.

Not sure how/why the Toyota engineers screwed up remote start so badly. It's just a poor design all around, from the annoying three presses on the remote to it shutting off when you open the door. My old GMC had it right - lock the door, then long press a button on the remote to start, which kept running when you opened the door. I know I've seen people say that they couldn't do it because they're push start but I doubt that.

My Silverado was push-button start and the remote start worked just fine without shutting off on door opening

Same with my ktm. Push button start and no doors so no problems. Ran like a dream.

any toyota with TSS 3.0 or higher will not shut off after remote start and door opening.

2.5 and lower will shut off. and there is no hack to resolve this since its inherent to the hardware of the 2.5 and lower.

What exact hardware would limit the ability to stay running when opening a door? Our trucks are ALL software driven for controls. I also say the theft excuse is total BS. If there is not a FOB within range, and the shifter button is pressed... the truck shuts off. Not just the motor. Once remote started, it should require a FOB in perimeter, press brake and start button to go into run mode. Simple. Toyota was playing the "let's get money in other ways" game, and has been called out for the BS.
