With Lancruisers with the 4C turbo engine MSRP at around 65K in higher trims, and all other Yotas with the 3.5 turbo selling above 80K, I believe that the Tundra is right now the best value for the money Toyota Truck/SUV line vehicle. Talking from mu limited TRD OR experience.

Agreed. Closest competitor is the new Lexus GX550. You can't even find an Overtrail or Overtrail plus at sticker now up near $100k. The new Tacoma doesn't have enough room for most growing families but the Tundra does.

I paid $38K for a brand new 2.5 gen late 2023 and slapped a supecharger on it for another $11K. Now that is value. I think the 3rd gen is grossly overpriced given the design, quality and power you get. But that's just me.

JW you have an awesome truck and powerful like crazy. That said I'd love to have a supercharged V8 for a fun truck but the new truck is really hard to beat overall. $50k is reasonable for what you have and it will hold value except for that supercharger. if and when your ready to sell you'll have to find a buyer that wants it or remove and sell separately. But who really cares? That pull and whine are so addicting right? Rock on brother!

Now that is a steal! What actual year is your Tundra? Did the super charger nix your warranty?

    congrats on the great deal!

Is a 2021. I did the supercharger install at a Toyota dealership service shop so the extended warranty is still valid if I take it and do the maintenance there, which I plan to anyway.

Nice score. You found a unicorn! Not sure how that truck slipped through to late 2023? If it was on the lot when I purchased in May 2023 it would have been hard to turn down that’s for sure. Glad it wasn’t though extremely happy with my purchase and Hope over time it presents the same value.

Well, that is pretty nice truck you have, but I'm referring if you are in the market for a new Yota.

I made this purchase on a battery of decisions, like manufacturers, engine size/ (options) trim level and price for my working dollar, but most importantly dependabilty and craftsmanship.
So when pulling the trigger I knew my choice was very clear that Toyota was the way to go even though I have never owned one before.
I've been burt by the trendy novelty of ford "being the #1 seller blah blah blah, ford poops out a vehicle every six seconds, that sums up that.I was under the impression that it's quality not quantity.
Dodge, well nice looking inside and out and great ideas on the ergonomics of the interior but the quality IMHO is less than sub par for the course.
Chevy...Man that was a tuff one to say good by to,my first vehicle was Chevy Nova, anyway the price of what I built on GMC's site was 20+K more than Toyota.
I dunno about the rest of you but when Toyota did that buy back, rebuild or put you back into a new or newer Toyota was un heard of and
the big American 3 never jumped on that wagon to do anything at all and if I'm not mistaken several years later when they were collapsing they cried poor mouth with hand out to the Govt. With the arrogance of flying into the Big meeting for help in there bail outs they flew in with their private jets....That kinda tells me they see us and dumb grunts down range who don't know any better, but we the consumers built there lavish lives.Nuff said on that without pissing anyone off.

I couldn't be any happier with this truck and glad I chose it.

Solid logic and I agree with it.
I'm not seeing the $20K difference on like for like equipped Toyota to GMC. Maybe $5-10K after the negotiation?

Thanks man,I'm taking the leap of faith with Toyota and selected the Capstone with every conceivable option available except the 3" lift due to conflicts of AVS.
I honestly feel that for my buck this is the top of the line Toyota truck that fits all of my needs and then some for 80K.
As for Chevy, well the GMC I built AT4X with 6.6L I know it's apples to oranges so to speak but as we know Toyota did not and dose not and never will offer a bigger engine.
This is what I was aiming at and wanted it but went with my gut this time around.
Unfortunately it's all a gamble today post covid BS and you don't get what you pay for in today's market and most of all we have to be our own advocate.
My last chevy I replaced the engine and tranny both failed at the statistical period and I just didn't want to gamble again.
I will confess, I miss the Auto 4X4 and the auto start features along with a couple of other minor stupid stuff but that doesn't compare to peice of mind.

I have faith in Toyota not hope but think I made the right decision.

I am up in the foothills of Ca and everyone has horses and cattle. I cannot believe how much (and how often) they spend on trucks. The 2 recent Ford purchase I know was 108K and 90K and a non diesel GMC2500 for 60 I think. They make fun of my Tundras until they see me pull a 7x14 dump trailer full of rock or wood. On top of initial savings, the value of reliability is priceless too IMO. I have kept all 3 because they are such great trucks.
Hell, my soon to be ex wanted to sell the 02 Sequoia I bought her years ago and I said noooope I'll take it!
So long story longer-get the Toyota! They hold their value longer as well.

I know everyone needs different things in a truck but for my needs in a light towing 1/2 ton truck I fell in love with the 2023 1749 Tundra I had. When the 2024 1749 Limited Edition 1749 came out I chose that truck as my lifetime truck. I'll add mods to it but in terms of comfort and function on top of Toyota reliability it was a "can't go wrong" choice IMHO. Now I still bought a the top choice for an extended warranty because honestly my shade tree mechanic skills are not much use for the complexity of this truck.

I like my local Toyota dealership's service department and more importantly in my opinion I trust them.

I have no problem recommending a Tundra as a purchase to anybody including my son-in-law who will be looking for a truck in the future.

The long term value question is resale value. More likely the LCs are the new FJs with very high resale values than the Tundra whose production volumes are increasing.

Not just a Toyota question. We are past the sell any junker for big bucks COVID supply period. People are are back to having to buy new vehicles with inflated stickers, 7% loans without the benefit of $40k down payments from selling a 7 year old vehicle. That looks like a bubble when the inevitable economy pivots downward and supply exceeds demand
