For those of you with dogs, I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is strapping their dog into the MIDDLE seat in the back. I have tried a half dozen or more commercial dog restraints, and they all worked fine on the left or right seatbelt; not a single one works in the middle. I am surprised, but it seems the buckle in the middle of our tundras is different.

what specific restraint device are you using with your dog? A link would be greatly appreciated as possible.

I usedcto have 2 GSD's in harnesses. So using left and right. Center didn't work. Have you looked at using one of the anchors behind the seat, coming from above center to prevent getting tangled up?

Problem is every solution I can find uses the seatbelt harnesses found on the left or right, or the child seat anchors in between the back and seat cushions. But nothing has worked in the middle or with the anchor on top.

I’ve gotta roll with two kids and a Husky back there every day, so I need a middle seat solution. Doesn’t look like this harness goes in the middle…?

Ill check when I get home, but I can't see why they wouldn't. Is there debris in your middle buckle?

There is no debris and no damage. I’ve had Toyota confirm that, too. The middle buckles are NOT the same as the ones on the left/right.

They make seat belts that loop around the headrest.
But they would probably be too long for what you need.

Yes the middle buckle is a different size the side buckles.
They do that to avoid using the wrong buckle.
