Yeah that’ll look good, mine were Amazon special cheapo lights but did the job great. Didn’t have the space in the bumper so I cut a hole in the pro grille and mounted them flush. My truck will be a family camper / wheeler hauler so I’m super torn if I’ll be going full hoop or just that bottom plastic replacement for winch but it’s time before I do that mod.

Got my Strands Skylords 7” round lights for my bumper install still to come. Strands is a Swedish company and they make some cool lights that throw a lot of light with unique accent DRL’s. The DRL’s can be triggered in amber or white, btw the camera isn’t capturing the amber color very well.

How much did the front end drop with the added weight? That's my only reservation on the Ironman, by spec sheet is quite a bit heavier than the competitors.

I’ll hopefully install it next weekend. I’m curious too about the weight, but I need protection and most bumpers out there didn’t protect enough for deer strikes or narrow trails like I run. I cracked my bumper 2 months ago sliding on leaves going 8mph on a gravel road and barely hit a bush. Very frustrating that the front ends of these trucks are so brittle

Do you need the wireless charger installed? I don’t have a charger in my rig but would love this feature.

Nope, it replaces the back wall of that space and uses power from the 12v outlet on the top of the dash. I had my whole dash apart in 10 minutes, surprisingly quick

This is more of an off-road mod, but I used a TV mount to hang my privacy tent. I wanted it to clear the truck as well as slide backwards to avoid the ladder on my rooftop tent. I can set this thing up in about 20 seconds or less in case there is an emergency poo poo :blahblah:

    $30 haha

That is pretty clever. I was actually just thinking about building some kind of hinge for mine. Is it pretty sturdy once extended or does it bounce around a lot?

I agree, cool idea. Also wondering about the sturdiness when deployed and stored.

I bought everything to make a hinged mount out of extruded aluminum, haven't built it yet, gonna have the tent located at the rear and pivot out to the driver side next to the tailgate when deployed, our tent opens to the passenger side. But that TV mount is way more economical than the route I took.

When deployed it is plenty sturdy and given that the TV mount can pitch up or down you can precisely dial in level. What’s harder to lock out is the swivel nature of the mount, it’s fine for a calm day. I have screw in stakes for the 4 corners if it’s windy so it doesn’t move. That nighttime photo was at the Alvord Desert in Oregon and it was windy that night and it held up great. I thought about doing a simple hinge swing out as well and there’s a $250 one on the market but I wasn’t going to pay that. But I didn’t want the tent to hang right by my PullKitchen so I went this route.

The front of the tent hooks onto the rack and the rear has a set screw that pulls the unit in and pins it in place when I’m driving. It’s very solid, it did 2500 miles to Death Valley and 500 of those were in Death Valley bouncing around for hours and hours. Here’s a couple more photos from a video I’m working on.

Valid point about being right next to your PullKitchen. Wish I would have seen this before buying the material for a hinged mount and tried this route but oh well, good idea, thanks for sharing

I went through cabinetparts.com, 60” locking heavy duty. They are Fulterer and a little pricey but their locks are more robust than Amazon units

Power, not really. Some MPG’s for sure but in sport mode I can still spin the 37’s. But I also accepted the weight because it allows the truck to do so much more than before based on my use case

Well it took a week for various reasons but I got the Ironman Apex bumper installed on my truck with Strands Lighting Division rounds and cubes installed. Overall I really like the strength and the look, though IM’s instructions don’t exist other than an install video. It’s hefty though and fitting for the front end.

Annnd on my very first test drive with the bumper the truck threw codes, went into reduced power mode, and a new engine has been ordered at 51k miles.
