Got these turn signals with my headlights off EBay around September. Didn’t notice the condensation for a while but now because of winter it’s much more noticeable. upload_2025-2-13_14-32-16.jpgupload_2025-2-13_14-32-33.jpg
It’s only the drivers side corner turn signal that gets it. Yesterday we got 3” of rain and I came back to my truck and there was a puddle of water in it. upload_2025-2-13_14-34-33.jpg
So I switched only the driver side turn signal out with the OEM one and I just noticed that the OEM one also is getting condensation in it too. I’ve never noticed that before and it wasn’t like that with the OEM one before I bought the new ones. So I’m pretty stumped because I thought the new one I bought had a bad seal but somehow the original ones also have condensation. Anybody have any clue why that is?

Also the OEM turn signal did not get a puddle of water in it today. Just condensation like the first picture I posted.

    LOL

    same.

i will say don't use straight rubbing alcohol to help the condensation evaporate.

it'll make your new lenses crack within 5min. ASK ME HOW I FUCKING KNOOWWWW :(

best bet is to take it out. Work a towel with windex around and let it dry off in a warm dry area. Maybe even having a few silica packets.

THEN when she's all nice and dry, get some silicone sealant for boats from you local outdoors store and go around the seams of the lense/casing.

I should have done this but I said "fuck it" and now my brand new Dr. side corner has a massive crack in it within 2 days.

    learn from my mistakes

    That's a bummer.
So obviously there is water intrusion rather than water condensation in that corner light housing. Water condensation is normal and results from humidity and should clear up quickly. I got new corner lights with my blacked out headlights and they fortunately haven't accumulated water. My headlights had a fair amount of excess butyl sealant pushed out of the assembly edges. One approach would be to heat up the problem light assemblies in a large box, pull apart it apart, and then add butyl sealant. Heat up again and then reseal.

I'd also make certain there is a good seal with the corner light bulbs/LEDs. I've added silicone seals to different bulbs/LEDs that felt loose when installing

Are you using LED signal bulbs?

Yeah there is a small rubber ring that goes around the bulb socket

My plan was just to buy a new corner turn signal but what’s holding me back is that if the OEM one that I put back on got condensation in it what’s to say a brand new corner signal won’t

I think I’m going to try the silicone seals that sounds like a really good idea
    Thank you

It’s too bad it’s a real issue otherwise I would’ve said you were just low on blinker fluid from first glance.

Let us know if the silicone sealant fixes the issue.

I was going to suggest that the aftermarket LED sockets might not be sealing as well as the OEM. But in looking at the bulbs, I see that's not the case because you replace just the bulb and still use the OEM socket.
