That's how mine are. I already sanded and cleared them, but they're too sun worn.

I'll have my painter lightly smoke them whenever I get around to buying them.

How'd you snap the cable by the way? Was it just too rusted/rotted and stretched?

Just an aside, I plan on replacing the bushing on the equalizer and any other frozen parts this weekend (I think I posted these on my a previous post as well)

Yeah, it was just rusty, and I was really cranking hard on the parking brake trying to get the rear brakes to adjust. I replaced the front one over the summer and should've replaced the rear one too.

I noticed some oil on the driveway under my rear diff, which reminded me I needed to buy more diff oil to top it off anyways. Paid $30 for a pump, because I didn't feel like taking off the spare tire or fighting the bottle again. Worth it.
Anyways, my dumb ass didn't torque down the drain plug. It was finger tight the last two weeks, including my trip from Houston to Dallas and back, for those three Kendas... Ooops!
Surprisingly it didn't start leaking til after that trip and it only took like a 1/4 qt, which is about how low I expended it to be before the leak. So I'm feeling pretty good about it.
    20250314_115959.jpg

Then I noticed exactly what I always feared...
The 1" lift blocks me and @Sirfive installed in place of lowering blocks are shifting. Gonna need to swap em for the proper fitting SOS 1/2" lowering blocks soonish.
    20250314_120014.jpg
    20250314_120025.jpg
This really shows how they never fit properly.
    20250314_120023.jpg
The shift is not the appearance of backing out. It not going anywhere that way, the shift is the twisting. Either way, they never fit right.

3/4 of my skidplates showed up. Hoping @FabulousDale has my sliders ready for t2s.

    IMG_0418.jpg
I’ll call em skidplates, but they’re really just diapers to hold my leaks a bit. Impressed with skidrow’s packing. They added foam on the edges to keep things from falling out of the boxes.

Not sure it counts with regard to "doing" anything to my Tundra...but I received shipping notifications for my new driveshaft, fr33lance gusseted spindles, and Radflo set up. I did open a box that arrived today that had the GX calipers and Wildwood LSPV kit. Always fun to collect parts, then look at the pile early on a saturday morning and rub the rosary...praying for no broken or stubborn bolts.

I did do something. Got a bit carried away with the cerakote today. Did the Diode Dynamics bezels and some pew-pews. I won't post pics as I'll probably get banned. The Foxbeam bezels I was giving away for free were also cerakoted...if anyone wants them. Sort of a darker grey.

I pulled the lights to change up the set ups. I'll put the SS3s on ditch brackets along with the SSC1s. The SSC2s are getting new lenses and will be my left/right camp lights. Speaking of ditch brackets. I'm running the Ragos, but ordered some under the mirror mounts to try out. They have slots to mount 2 lights each side, one at an angle out and one sideways. I always have blind spots in the mountains and this may fix it. Plus, it'll get the lights out of my view. We'll see.

They aren't. Thats just how the lift blocks sit with the SOS kit and exactly why I need to swap in the SOS lowering blocks.
    They are twisting.

New radiator and hoses along with the PCV. Also ordered new transmission cooler hoses. The current ones look...old and a few are cracking a bit. May as well swap them out.

Also updated my Auxbeam from the BA80 to the RA80 yesterday. Changed all of the electrical to fully run off the house battery.

Took the boys camping, they drove me bananas most of the time but we all had a blast! It rained pretty much all night and into the morning as we were packing up, we then took the control road up the backside of the mountain to the top and played in fresh snow; we were probably 3rd thru the fresh snow, I can’t complain
IMG_7709.jpg IMG_7715.jpg IMG_7716.jpgDiesel heater kept us nice and toasty, I actually kicked it on right after we set up camp because the boys hands were cold from messing with the snow they got the night before
IMG_7724.jpg IMG_7727.jpg IMG_7736.jpgI employed some different fire building and maintaining techniques IMG_7743.jpggotta have that ice cream! IMG_7747.jpgI was tripping last night, I sware that was Godzilla in the fire! IMG_7752.jpgPut it in the air!
IMG_7757.jpg turkey town, hadn’t seen them at all until this morning. Camp was kinda busy last night; all the rookies showing up at dusk while it started snowing lightly
IMG_7758.jpg IMG_7762.jpg IMG_7769.jpg IMG_7772.jpg Played in the snow, made snow cones, and went to the general store up top and got a elbow of fudge

Today I bent my front driver side rim in Big Bear. Mud n snow trail and remember a hard knock. Can see air escaping along the bead and wobble over 30. Good times

Diode Dynamics lens swap. Converted the SS3s to ditch lights and moved the SS2s to side camp lights. The S1 pods will go onto the mirror bracket when they come in...see how that works. If no one wants the foxbeam bezels...they'll go out with the trash tomorrow.

Very nice! Looks like fun, you're a good dad doing shit like that with your boys. Two questions...

1 Is that metal roofing you have the fire on?

2 Did you pet that nice little kitty cat?

Thats cardboard corner braces from a big AC box, the ground was soaked so I figured it would help keep the fire going better while it started
