YEARS LATER EDIT: See post #15 for the great solution I found!

omg, I am about to lose my mind over the unending “courtesy alerts” this truck makes; seatbelt! keys! door!
I don’t care if all vehicles have em. I don’t care if the NTSHA says we need them. I just need the noise to stop before I end up in the mental ward!
I do a lot of very short drives on pastures where I’m not needing the seatbelt, keys are left in, door ajar for valid reasons.
I have a seatbelt cheater but that’s not efficient.
I’ve asked two service centers to disable them, they couldn’t figure how.
I’m about ready to offer $2000 to anyone who can shut. them . off!

there's a little speaker in the dashboard... somewhere... I never thought about "disabling" it, but that's a GREAT IDEA!

Drivers seatbelt is easy to open up and remove the spring that forces the switch UP when no belt installed. Passenger side should be the same but it's a little dicey with the airbag deployment logic tied into if the belt is buckled. I'd just keep a junkyard seatbelt cutoff plugged in that side. That's what I do for my dog riding up front.

The door sensor should be easy enough to bypass the door jam trigger switch. Just remove and wire the ends together. The truck will think door is always closed.

The one that may not be so quick or easy is the key left in ignition, though I don't know if that goes off if the door is closed...

I can confirm the seat belt one works, worked on mine, bypassing the door trigger will disable the dome light though :angrygirl:

How do you know this won’t mess with the airbag?
    if not, I’m interested!

I've a 2007, not even a key to turn off the passenger side, i don't believe the airbags had any connection to the seatbelts until... later? :notsure:

2007+ the passenger side airbag is connected to the seat belt switch. I believe there is some logic on the passenger side to only set off the airbag depending if the occupant detection system detects weight in the passenger seat and/or the belt is buckled.

As far as I know the driver side is always active, as the truck always assumes there is a driver.

So since my buckles are telling it that they're buckled, that means it assumes there's someone there right? My dog was setting off the weight sensor while i was driving, VERY annoying

Also, i jumpered the seat belt buckle, not removed the spring.

The dealer should be able to disable the seatbelt chime; they did on my '21 Pro... If you look in your owner's manual it's part of the adjustable settings in one of the charts showing what you can change/adjust and what the dealer can adjust for you (this one is dealer only)

The rest of the silliness is tied into the whole safety suite mess, and all those warning beeps are designed to help you avoid leaving a child or senior, etc... in the vehicle unattended, etc... I'm sure at some point someone made a mistake that resulted in someone's death (left child, etc.) in vehicle and in someone's infinite wisdom it was decided that auto manufacturers should do A,B, and C to avoid this happening in the future.

Kinda like the floor mat cluster from a while back.

One beep I’ve never figured out is sometimes when off-roading for a while a beep coming from around the center display starts going off every few seconds. Only way to turn it off is to stop and restart the engine. Not sure if related to lots of bouncing around or what. Removing the beep speakers is a genius idea.

In theory I am pretty sure I can make the truck never beep again by removing the signal to the speaker. I’m not sure I would advise it permanently but maybe put it on a toggle switch.

You can keep the switch “off” disabling the speaker for as long as you own it. If you ever need it back to factory to sell or for inspection whatever just flip the switch back on.

I will do some testing on this and see if it works

Sorry to hound you, my simple brain needs things spelled out, so if my seat belt buckles are tricked into thinking they're always buckled you say that WILL interfere with the airbag?

I am thrilled to report I have been able to easily, cheaply & safely disable the &@#! seatbelt alarm!
I can now enjoy my 2020 Tundra and not have to banish Toyota from my list of ‘next trucks’!
These are available on Amazon/EBay <$10
I trust them to be strong enough in a collision.
They are sold as “Seatbelt Extenders”
You plug it in and leave it there.

You know the seat belt alarm is a techstream setting that the dealer can shut off for you if you ask... should be no charge!!!

I had it done on my '21 Pro

That's an interesting, although not unheard of, response from some dealers... especially considering it's right in the owner's manual....

It's under Customization / Customizalbe Features starting on pg 564 for my '21 Pro:

    IMG_1729.jpg

An 'O' under line 3 is an indication the dealer can adjust the setting:

    IMG_1730.jpg

Pg 572 shows Seat Belt Reminder Buzzer is NOT customizable by the user at the mult-info display or multimedia center, however it is an optional setting adjustment by the dealer:

    IMG_1731.jpg

Sucks that you got the run around, but I'm glad you found another solution

Nothing yet except for some LED interior & exterior bulbs.
I'm going to guess the "speaker" is attached to the back of the gauge cluster. It oughta take about 20 minutes to pull the cluster, remove the speaker, and reassemble everything. Then you've gotten rid of the thing for all alerts.
