I've got a pile of parts for the old boy, but I'm too damn busy to take him off the road. Between vacations, side business scrap hauling and being understaffed at work I'm busier than any sane person should be. But he just keeps kicking ass for me. Got a great shot of him after picking up more scrap last night with the sun set.

It's been pretty good to me. I got pretty lucky. A few years back I was contacted by a law firm, asking me to haul scrap for them. Their client was a Korea/Vietnam Marine vet who'd been recently arrested and deemed mentally unfit to be living on his own anymore and they were cleaning up his property to sell it off. In total, I hauled 5 car trailers worth of bicycles, lawn mowers and BBQ grills out of his yard. He had the blue trailer you see, and another project trailer pictured below. The law firm offered them to me for free for hauling everything away. I'm going to sell the blue trailer and keep the black one since the bed is much larger. I feel bad from time to time about what happened to the guy. Everyone I talked to about him said he was a very nice man, but had a hair trigger due to his PTSD, and that's what got him arrested. His income aside from benefits was fixing and reselling all the junk I hauled away. He was even nice enough to donate the kids bikes he fixed. I guess that's the downside to the scrap hauling I do, I hear a lot of stories about why people don't want or need what I'm hauling away for them.

Installed a new driver door window switch valence today. The old one broke apart and dropped the window switches down into the door. No clue how that part failed but $37 and ten minutes later and it’s as good as new.

Today I changed out my devil horns for some Realtree ones.

Last week received my LED lights.

I oopsed and thought the Ihacker harness I had was correct, but it was not. Unfortunately I figured that out after install, so I had to use the Jungle site for quick delivery.

40k miles and just changed out my front pads that look like they were definitely needed. Installed OEM pads.
    20250406_122441.jpg 20250406_133253.jpg

Rears looked to still have alot of meat on them so I left those in but I'll be keeping an eye on them.

Question: Is "bedding" in the brakes only needed with after market brake pads & rotors?
Since I changed out only my pads, do I need to do anything specific?

Also, can you guys help me confirm something. Are these Sumosprings?
    20250406_173706.jpg
There's no other aftermarket company that makes them like these, right? I bought my truck used thinking my truck was 100% without mods but it looks like previous owner must have added these.

Thanks! The blues are the more sought after ones, right? Do those offer a softer ride? I recall seeing a video not long ago about the differences. I'll have to look into that again.

OE pads and set up I don't go through a 'bedding' process, but I do follow the same 'break in' procedures outlined in the owner's manual...

    - smooth controlled stops for the first 200 miles

    - don't tow for 500 miles

From age 16 to 25 I never bedded pads and never had issues. Same with my parents. Age 25-35 I’ve done the pad bedding thing and always ended up with issues. Doesn’t matter if I replace pads, rotors, or both. I haven’t bedded a set of pads in over 5yrs and haven’t had an issue yet.

Floor is done with the CLD layer. Waiting on more Dynaliners to show up Tuesday and Wednesday. Plus 1 more box of CLD for the doors, 36sqft total.
80sqft was enough for my setup. Roof, floor and back wall. Not 100% coverage, but plenty good enough.

this is the back wall sticked down. Tapping on it sounds pretty good. Nice and muffled.
Cant wait to finish the rest.

Got some blind spot cameras installed. Looks OEM+ with the kit from Crux for the CSV-TUN. Had to use a video splitter from Amazon since the Sony 9500ES only has two camera inputs and I’m already using Channel 1 for a front camera. Camera view comes on automatically with turn signals and can also manually activate with steering wheel controls thanks to the Maestro RR unit.

So I picked up a 2016 a few weeks ago. After about a week I noticed that the fuel door kept popping open. I ordered a replacement spring, removed the assembly as shown on YouTube, and carefully took the worn spring out. As I was installing the new spring, the half-circle portion sheared off.
I took a picture before disassembly for reference, and I added the arrow to show what sheared. I added some superglue and reassembled. I am sure that the glue won't hold long, but it is holding, for now... Any suggestions for a solution when it breaks? I thought about adding a small screw. When I searched using the part number directly from the part (77291 0c070), it directed me to a new number that ended with 080 instead of 070. Of course, the part is about $100.

I assume that I am not the first person to have this happen to during the process. Any legitimate suggestions/solutions are appreciated. Thanks!

I also replaced my spring with one off Amazon and it doesn't have the tensile strength of the OEM spring.I didn't shear off the mounting post but the only option I found was replacing the entire unit. The outer skin of the lid comes off so you can put it on the replacement unit.I did see a video of a guy glueing a small earth magnet to the lid so when he shut it the lid stuck to the truck :benchpress:

What ladder racks do you have to work with the cover? And does it fold all the way back or only 2/3 of the way? Thanks
